Roland to Launch “INSPIRE THE MUSIC: 50 Years of Roland History” Book in Celebration of 50 Years of Music Innovation
Roland, the world’s most iconic electronic music instrument brand, is continuing to celebrate its 50th anniversary with the unveiling of the INSPIRE THE MUSIC: 50 Years of Roland History anniversary book. In collaboration with renowned publisher Bjooks, the 400-page, beautifully photographed hardcover book celebrates the culture, people, and technology that has shaped the brand over the past 50 years.
INSPIRE THE MUSIC is a fun, engaging, and informative tour through evolution and revolution in beat making, keyboards, pianos, synthesizers, guitar and bass products, drums and percussion, music production, and more. Readers will enjoy more than 70 colorful interviews with world-renowned artists and Roland designers, discussing their relationships with the instruments and making music. The book offers deep insights into the worldwide Roland culture, and a timeline traces Roland’s history from its humble beginnings under founder Ikutaro Kakehashi to its current place as a worldwide leader in music technology.
All of the Hydro Series fixtures feature robust all metal construction and are IP65-rated to allow safe temporary outdoor use in all weather conditions. The sealed casing design also means that the light source, electronics and internal mechanisms are protected from dust, dirt and airborne particles, including humidity and haze residue. The fixtures therefore require reduced maintenance schedules and are likely to offer extended operational lifespans, when compared with conventional fixtures. For this reason, many production companies are choosing to invest in all IP65-rated equipment, giving the flexibility to use them for both indoor and outdoor events. Similarly, many installers are choosing Hydro Series fixtures even for indoor permanent installations.

Having recently announced the creation of a team dedicated to the Asia-Pacific region, the manufacturer now announces that it has created and filled three key Sales Director positions to match its regional operational structure: BJ Shaver for the Americas, David Cooper for Asia-Pacific (APAC), and Jacob Barfoed for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). All three directly report to L-Acoustics Global Director of Business Development Jochen Frohn, while Shaver and Cooper will also be developing regional sales strategies in close collaboration with Americas CEO Alan Macpherson and APAC CEO Tim Zhou respectively.
Inspired by the depth of emotion he witnessed at vinyl listening sessions organized during his tenure at the Bridgestone Museum of Arts in Tokyo, Hideo Matsushita was determined to enable more people to experience the warmth of analog listening. In a small Shinjuku apartment, he established Audio-Technica and began developing cartridges. His first two products, the AT-1 and AT-3, achieved success and enabled Hideo to expand his business. He opened a larger headquarters in Machida, where the company still operates today.
