Audio-Technica, a leading innovator in transducer technology for over 50 years, announces the availability of the ES945O/XLR omnidirectional condenser boundary microphone and ES947C/XLR cardioid condenser boundary microphone – replacing A-T’s popular ES945 and ES947 with these upgraded versions. Notably, the ES945O/XLR and ES947C/XLR add IPX4 water resistance, protecting the microphones from splashes of water and making them even more ideal conferencing and monitoring solutions for a wide range of applications.

With their low-profile design that mounts unobtrusively in tabletops, ceilings or panels for minimum visibility, the ES945O/XLR omnidirectional condenser boundary microphone and ES947C/XLR cardioid condenser boundary microphone provide clear, highly intelligible audio that is perfect for conferencing, recording, monitoring and other demanding sound pickup applications. Protected by a rugged all-metal case with a two-layer perforated grille, the microphones feature polar patterns afford a 360° pickup angle (ES945O/XLR) and 120° pickup angle (ES947C/XLR), respectively, while Audio-Technica’s proprietary UniGuard® RFI-shielding technology provides outstanding rejection of radio frequency interference (RFI). The microphones’ IPX4 water resistance sets them in a class of their own as boundary mics. U.S.-based broadcast studio lighting manufacturer, PrimeTime Lighting Systems, builds a longer lasting LED Fresnel than other manufacturers. Luminaires are developed with the highest engineering standards and are guaranteed five-years. PrimeTime designed a passive cooling system that enhances the longevity of its commercial-grade LED Fresnel known as the GUS 51 LED Fresnel, in addition to its complete line of studio LED lights.

The church recently underwent an extensive facility upgrade to its sound reinforcement capabilities and, as part of this endeavor, they now have new loudspeakers drawn from the Vantec, Event, and Aero series catalogs of Valencia, Spain-based DAS Audio.

DiTech AV LLC of El Campo, TX, an AV design / build firm that services the worship and commercial markets while also operating a live event services division, was contracted to design and deploy the church’s new sound system. Paul Guthrie, the firm’s owner, who heads sales, system design, and system integration, discussed the project.

New PreSonus Universal Control Update Directly Supports M1 Macs and More

PreSonus® has released Universal Control 3.4.2, a milestone update to its multi-product control and driver software package that includes full support for Apple Silicon M1-based Mac® computers. All currently supported PreSonus hardware—including all USB audio interfaces (AudioBox and Studio series), Quantum-series Thunderbolt interfaces, StudioLive® mixers (16.0.2 USB, AR series, and Series III), ATOM-series pad controllers, and FaderPort®-series control surfaces—now works natively with M1-based Macs.

Universal Control 3.4.2 includes a firmware update for the PreSonus Quantum 4848 interface and for the company’s ATOM and ATOM SQ pad controllers. ATOM SQ now connects correctly on macOS® Big Sur 11.2 and later. Connectivity has been improved with some Windows® systems, as well. The update also implements pad performance adjustments for both units.

Audinate’s Dante Now Supported in More Than 3,000 Devices

Audinate’s Dante, the de facto standard for digital audio networking, recently reached an impressive milestone with more than 3,000 different products now incorporating Dante for audio-over-IP connectivity. According to research from RH Consulting, 3,034 Dante-enabled devices are available from 361 different manufacturers as of January 2021. The data from RH Consulting indicates Dante is the protocol of choice in more than 91 percent of the networked audio products currently on the market.

Audinate announced in January that the total number of OEM brands now working with Dante has reached 518, with 133 OEMs currently developing their first Dante-enabled product.
