NDI®, part of the Vizrt Group, today announced that it would immediately make available its new NDI®|HX Capture for iOS and its NDI®|HX Camera for iOS applications for free for the next 60 days. This move comes in response to an increase in mobile game streaming and a worldwide shortage of quality web cameras. These applications, used in conjunction with the free NDI® Tools software, enable the convenient creation of content, be that the action from a mobile game or live video in broadcast quality. Both apps are available now for download from the Apple iOS App Store and normally retail at $10 and $20 respectively.

Michael Hallén, CEO of the Vizrt Group said, “Our customers are the world’s storytellers and right now, unfortunately there is one story that is dominating our lives. Like everyone else, our customers are being impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak and are having to overcome the challenges of staffing shortages and lockdowns. Making these two NDI-powered apps available to all who need them makes it easier for the world’s storytellers to keep us all better informed.”

The historic Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, also known as the De Munt Theatre, has upgraded its entire staff communications infrastructure based on intercom equipment from Riedel Communications. Consisting of the Artist digital matrix intercom, Bolero wireless intercom in both integrated and standalone modes, and SmartPanel multifunctional user interfaces, the Riedel solution surpasses the theater’s requirements for highly flexible, reliable, high-quality, and future-proof intercom operations.
Located in the heart of Brussels at the Place de la Monnaie, the De Munt Theatre is one of the most prestigious opera houses in the world and the largest in Belgium, with more than 450 employees. Over its 300-year history, the theater has survived a revolution, a fire, and two world wars, as well as the normal passage of time and evolution of technology. The Riedel upgrade was part of a massive renovation project that closed the De Munt Theatre for two years beginning in 2016.

Recording Your Worship Band’s Original Music

Once upon a time way back in the early days of NOW Church, I can remember our worship team using a four-track recorder as a way of multi-tracking original songs they were developing. This was an upgrade from our cassette recorder days, yet a world away from the processing power we have today. We never dreamed that nearly 30 years later, we’d not only be able to track up to 64-channels of crystal clear digital audio during each and every worship experience, but release original music recorded live and in-house on our own Avid Protools rig, not to mention also being able to release singles and albums so they can be streamed and downloaded literally around the world in seconds!
I remember researching nearly two decades ago what churches were spending to record a CD; as my church was interested in producing a live record. With he process of hiring a mobile truck and crew to track out and record, plus all of the post-production, mixing and mastering that went into it, it was not uncommon to drop $25,000 or more on a project. Many churches would never recoup that kind of investment through album sales.

Pastor David Stine is our lead pastor, and his vision is to rebuild the spiritual walls around the DC Metro area. We have a vision for 17 campuses around the DC Metro area (we currently have three) and three more in New York (pending). All of our sites are co-equal; there is no main site or main campus. We have a central staff and then campus staff separately. I am the IT guy for all our sites; we have one main audio person, one main lighting person, and eventually we will have more staff at the campus level, but for now keeping things centralized keeps things organized. We currently have 35 people on staff. Our average weekend attendance is roughly 3000; we run a contemporary non-denominational worship.
