At this year’s centennial NAB show, Lawo and Haivision are pleased to announce that Lawo’s newly introduced HOME Apps will support streams received in the SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) format – including the ability to transcode and transmit a variety of incoming source streams to SRT-compatible destinations.

Lawo’s intention is to present broadcasters and media production services with the utmost flexibility and agility to cover live events whose scope and/or target viewership do not justify the utilization of broadcast-grade ST2110-based production tools and infrastructure, or indeed the lease of high-bandwidth network infrastructure in remote production scenarios. Lawo expects that other applications, such as the ability to use a mix of SDI-, SRT- and ST2110-compatible cameras, OTT streaming, fast retrieval of assets, etc., will also benefit from its support of SRT.

Pathway Connectivity Solutions Introduces DMeXit Emergency Controller for Code Compliant, UL924 Listed Emergency Lighting Solutions

Pathway Connectivity Solutions, a leader in developing DMX distribution and networking products, announced today the release of the DMeXit Emergency Controller, a new solution for venues that use theatrical and dynamic lighting but require emergency lights to illuminate to levels necessary for safe egress in emergency situations.

When triggered in an emergency event, the DMeXit controller circumvents the normal DMX signal and plays back a predetermined lighting scene appropriate for an emergency. The DMeXit may be triggered by an external contact closure or loss of normal power. DMeXit can also sense the loss of the normal DMX signal and will enter emergency mode. The trigger brings on a fully customizable single universe of DMX which then transmits to four isolated RDM compliant outputs. The controller offers the advantage of an optional integrated Phase Loss Detection device, housed within the same enclosure.
