In Audio, home_page, Install News, Uncategorizedby admin

Located a short distance southeast of Baton Rouge, Word of Life Christian Center is dedicated to changing people’s lives with the Word of God and equipping them to evangelize the word. Guided by Pastor Leroy Thompson, the church recently upgraded several of its facilities, including a new sound reinforcement system that included selected WorxAudio® and ULT series loudspeakers, a StudioLive® Series III digital console, EarMix® 16M AVB networked monitor mixers, a SW5E 5-port AVB switch and more—all drawn from the catalogs of PreSonus® Audio Electronics, Inc. (www.presonus.com) of Baton Rouge, LA.

Word of Life Christian Center’s new SR system was coordinated through Guitar Center Professional of Baton Rouge with I Am Music, LLC (also of Baton Rouge) handling the actual installation. Jason Lindgren, GC Pro’s Account Manager and Amos Singleton, President of the AV integration firm I Am Music, LLC, spent considerable time consulting with church management to ascertain their requirements for the new loudspeaker system. Ultimately, the decision was made to deploy a combination of PreSonus WorxAudio XL1i-P line arrays, V5 line arrays, X1M line arrays, and TL218SS sub bass enclosures. Completing the package, PreSonus ULT10 loudspeakers were also utilized. Both Lindgren and Singleton discussed the project.

Unlike most such churches, Ris Church is oriented north-south because of the shape of its plot. Services are traditional in this landmark historic building, featuring a large French Romantic-style organ and a choir that performs from the steps in front of the apse.

Recently, Ris Church added a new sound system featuring Renkus-Heinz ICONYX digitally steerable loudspeakers. Designed by Per Amundsen and installed by ABC Teknikk, the new system is primarily used for speech reinforcement. A BSS Soundweb London BLU-series signal processor manages the system.

Clair Brothers Big, Little PA System Raises Spirits and Solves Under Balcony Sound Problems at Calvary Fellowship Church

In Audio, home_page, Install News, Uncategorizedby admin

The snow kept falling and falling. And falling. Reaching two feet, the weight of the snow was too much for the roof to bear at Calvary Fellowship. Ruptured pipes irreparably flooded the 1,100-seat sanctuary at a cost of over a million dollars in damage. “Luckily nobody was hurt,” says a thankful Lee Wiggins, head pastor at the church.

The renovation was major, and it changed the physical design of the space. Improvements were made at all levels, which rendered the budget to complete important final details relatively low. “Money was an issue but we all felt we still needed to offer our congregation the best possible worship experience, especially the level of quality of the audio production that delivers our sermons,” points out Pastor Lee. So, who got the call? “Clair Brothers, of course,” he says with a smile. “And it was the right decision.”

Susan Morgan, Co-Owner of Morgan Sound, Passes Away

In Audio, home_page, Industry News, Uncategorizedby admin

It is with deep regret that A/V integrator Morgan Sound, Inc. of Lynnwood, Washington, announces the passing of co-owner, Susan Morgan, on July 25, 2018. She fought a fierce battle with Ovarian Cancer for four years, constantly managing her treatment and pushing her doctors for options that would save her life. “It was a duty that she, my wife Jody Adams, and I never set aside,” states Charlie Morgan, President of Morgan Sound and business partner of Susan. “I take comfort in knowing that we cared for her and stayed in her presence to the very end.”

In the early years of the company, Susan managed virtually all aspects of the day-to-day operations while her partner and then husband, Charlie Morgan, was touring with many national and international artists, and she continued to do so even after Charlie stopped touring, organizing and purchasing new inventory for both retail and live sound operations. Managing her own client list, of which there were many, her early adoption of the coming age of digital consoles positioned the company to post great gains when many of her church and sound clients began to switch over.

Danley Does It All (Again) at Fayetteville First Baptist Church

In Audio, home_page, Install News, Uncategorizedby admin

Fayetteville First Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Georgia is aware of its strengths, even as it shifts to a more blended worship style. The goal is to engage the next generation so that they keep their roots firmly planted at FFBC without going so far as to make church an alien experience for the older generations who have been supporting the church their entire lives. Although it met the church’s needs when it went in fifteen years ago, the sanctuary’s sound reinforcement system was straining under the weight of the more contemporary demands placed upon it by the shift in service style. FFBC hired Gainesville, Georgia-based dB Integrations – the same company that had designed and installed the older system – to update its 500-seat sanctuary with a new Danley-based sound system that could simultaneously deliver excellent spoken-word intelligibility and exciting musicality.

“We did Fayetteville First Baptist Church’s previous sound reinforcement system when I first started at dB Integrations fifteen years ago,” said Neil Philpott, sales consultant at dB Integrations. “We designed that system for a multi-purpose room because, like many churches, they hoped to build a dedicated sanctuary. But that never ended up happening and so the ‘multi-purpose room’ became the permanent worship space.”
