Featuring an Intimate and Inspirational Session with Jason Lovins Band and We The Kingdom for “Believe in Music”

Yamaha is combining the powerful message of faith through music with the intimate setting of a prayer service for its annual Night of Worship event, January 21, 2021 during Believe in Music Week.

For the past 11 years, the Yamaha Night of Worship concert has presented inspiring live performances by worship music artists. The 2021 version will deliver the same immersive experience but in an online, interactive and personal format.

Believe in Music Week is the virtual reimagining of the annual NAMM Show, canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The hour-long session will feature music performances by We The Kingdom, named the 2020 New Artist of the Year by the Gospel Music Association, and the acclaimed and popular Jason Lovins Band. The bands will also share their experiences using music to inspire, and Yamaha is offering a live chat feature allowing viewers to interact with the artists and special guests during the livestream.

“This year’s event will deliver the best of contemporary worship music artistry, featuring We The Kingdom, an exciting newcomer on the music scene, and Jason Lovins, a beloved recording and touring artist with an incredibly inspirational story,” said nine-time Emmy award-winning producer Chris Gero, chief artist relations executive, Yamaha Artist Relations Group/Yamaha Entertainment Group. “The online and interactive format will allow the viewers to get up close and personal with these artists and establish a deeper connection with their messages of faith through music.”

Night of Worship will stream on January 21, 2021, from 4 to 5 pm PST. The event can be viewed on the Believe in Music “Artist TV Channel,” and viewers must first register for Believe in Music at https://attend.believeinmusic.tv.

A separate registration for Night of Worship is not required.

Lectrosonics, together with a number of dealers, industry manufacturers and end users, has been spearheading a social media campaign for the last few weeks, Sound is Essential, to emphasize that no matter the medium, sound is critical. Without sound, stories and messages are lost to the viewers, audiences, or congregations. Alongside the campaign, Lectrosonics is sponsoring the Sound is Essential creativity contest, where users can upload videos to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and tag them with #lectrosonics and #soundisessential. The deadline to enter the contest is January 31, 2021.

The Sound is Essential videos should be short, creative, and focused on demonstrating the importance of sound. For instance, with the sound of the video absent altogether, viewers will likely wonder “what went wrong” at first, while they try to figure out why they can’t hear anything. This content may be in the form of product introductions, instructional videos, tips and tricks, videos, and the like.

Closing out a year that will surely be remembered as the most disrupting for the live sound industry, L-Acoustics announces three new initiatives to help industry colleagues, partners, and clients. Recognizing the impact the COVID crisis had on live event production companies and venues, which remained idle most of the year, L-Acoustics announces a one-year extension of its five-year product warranty. The warranty extension is automatic and applicable to all products still covered under the manufacturer’s warranty as of January 1, 2020.

In addition, following a global survey and roundtable with Certified Providers conducted in the fall, L-Acoustics notified its network of amendments to the company’s commercial terms for 2021. Adapting its discount structure to reflect the network partners’ lower expected turnover, L-Acoustics strives to help them regain their footing more rapidly in the coming year and maintain competitive access to product and support from the manufacturer.

DPA Microphones Hit the Road With Zach Williams for the “Drive-In Theater Tour”

Zach Williams was out on a solo, headlining tour when the COVID pandemic began to peak. Though the remaining shows for the year were cancelled, Williams still yearned for the live stage and delivering his gift of song to fans. The Christian country/rock star, together with Big Daddy Weave, organized the “Drive-In Theater Tour.” Though social distancing protocols required smaller crews, which also meant less gear on stage, Williams’ FOH and monitor engineers were in agreement that the DPA d:facto and 2028 Vocal Microphones were essential to the performances.

“We had one 20×24 SL100 mobile stage, definitely smaller than what we’re used to, and all of the attendees would park and stay in or near their car,” explains Carson Brannock, monitor engineer for Zach Williams. “I didn’t even realize there were this many drive-in theaters still operating in the country, but we did about 30 separate tour stops. From an operational perspective, the biggest difference on our end was that we didn’t advance any local stagehands in order to keep the crew consistent throughout. No one was allowed backstage, not even family, so we did everything on our own. It was a bit of an adjustment, but we got into a flow that worked fairly well. It was definitely different than the normal setup and atmosphere than we’re used to, but it was really cool.”
