As more and more organizations are finding the need to communicate remotely, streaming video has turned into an essential tool to stay connected with students, congregants, and employees. The good news is that streaming technology is user-friendly, and you may already have much of the equipment you need for a perfectly capable streaming system. If you don’t, our friends at Full Compass have put together a variety of streaming packages to meet the needs of venues of all sizes.

The information provided below by Full Compass goes over the basics of streaming for those who are brand new to setting up a video stream, before getting into some more intermediate and high-level configurations.

So… Video Streaming 101

  1. Get a video camera. Already have one? Great!
  2. Get an encoder. That’s the one thing you probably don’t have. This is basically a box that sends your video signal out to the world.
  3. Hook your camera into your encoder with an HDMI or SDI cable (depending on your camera), follow the simple setup prompts, and stream over YouTube or your Facebook page or any other streaming service.

BenQ, an internationally renowned provider of visual display and collaboration solutions, continues the successful growth of its InstaShow™ family of secure, easy-to use collaborative wireless presentation systems with the release of the InstaShow S WDC20. The InstaShow S button can connect to nearly any device using the HDMI port, can securely mirror the screens of up to four sources at 4K resolution, and allows presenters using an interactive flat panel (IFP) display to annotate their presentations on Windows computers directly from the IFP’s touchscreen.
“Large conference rooms don’t just require a screen-mirroring system that will allow many presenters to share their content; they need one that doesn’t expose the network to potential threats or expose confidential content to unauthorized viewing,” said Bob Wudeck, senior director of business development at BenQ America Corp. “As we enter a new age of BYOD and collaboration, BenQ is committed to ensuring that organizations follow best practices for network security. InstaShow is the only wireless system that can operate independently of the network, truly minimizing the corporate network attack profile, in addition to ensuring a 100% 128-bit AES-encrypted content stream. Also, users can wirelessly cast from any mobile or HDMI device, potentially replacing the expense of a traditional wired HDMI switcher. InstaShow checks all the boxes: it’s affordable, flexible, easy to use, and most importantly — secure.”
