First Christian Church in Elizabethtown, Kentucky recently called in JCA Media for the latest upgrade to its campus. Having already completed several installation projects for the congregation in the past, JCA Media was on-hand to deliver a Martin Audio main PA system and ceiling speaker installation for the church’s worship areas, classrooms and children’s play areas.

The decision to go with Martin Audio was a simple one. “The tech directors were already familiar with Martin Audio and we always rely on their systems for these types of installations,” explained Alex Peake, Integration Specialist at JCA Media.

JCA Media installed three Martin Audio CDD10s as LCR speakers alongside a pair of SX112 subs flown above the stage to deliver smooth, even coverage across the space. “For this project, the CDDs merged together so beautifully within the main worship area and it was great to see the stage arches accommodating those types of cabinets so well,” stated Peake.

Danley Sound Labs Installs “Hi-Fi” System at First Baptist Church Smithville

First Baptist Church of Smithville, Tennessee is the sort of small town Baptist church that has served as a community hub for decades. Its sanctuary is a very traditional rectangular Baptist-style building that seats around 400 people, with a small balcony, a high ceiling, pews, and carpet. Services continue to call on a talented choir, but these voices are mixed these days with an equally-talented band, making First Baptist Church solidly committed to a blended service. Design and integration firm Centerline Audio Visual recently installed an elegant Danley Sound Labs “hi-fi” system to make the emotional impact of the church’s services commensurate with the soul that is being poured into them from the musicians, pastor and guests.
“First Baptist Church of Smithville reached out to us based on a referral from another client who was very pleased with the Danley system we had installed for them,” explained Scott Oliver, president of Centerline Audio Visual. “The existing system at First Baptist was in terrible shape. A lot of the loudspeaker drivers were blown and the whole thing was really only marginally functional. I didn’t need to ask them what was wrong with their existing system, it was obvious. But I did go over all of their current and future needs so that we could deliver a system that would capably meet those needs without going overboard. I met with them, measured the acoustical properties of the room, and built out a model in EASE. From there, I found the ideal Danley loudspeaker configuration that would cover the congregation in glorious stereo without hitting the walls or ceiling.”

Clair Brothers C15 System Brings Power and Clarity to New Sanctuary in South Korea’s Yeon Moo Dae Church

Yeon Moo Dae Church is a church housed within a Korean Army training center that draws from a unique mix of traditional and modern Christian influence. The construction of the church took ten years to complete as it relied upon singular donations from nearly 10,000 individuals, over 600 Christian community churches and just about 600 church-related organizations. Most recently, the church built a brand new sanctuary with a seating capacity that can welcome its 6,000-strong congregation. The room itself measures a generous 66-meters wide by 55-meters deep with a ceiling height of fifteen meters. The church committee knew well that such a big room required a big sound system, one that could cover the entire space with clarity and balance. After doing diligent research by visiting other large sanctuaries and listening to their sound systems, it was unanimously decided that Clair Brothers was the best brand for the job.

Intelligible speech amidst York Minster’s ethereal reverberation with the d&b xC-Series

Steeped in centuries of history, the city of York’s magnificent Minster holds a revered place in the lives of locals and visitors alike. The Minster’s in-house team recently completed a ground-breaking project by installing over one hundred loudspeakers from the d&b xC-Series of cardioid columns, forming the largest system of its kind in any Minster – and becoming the largest single installation of the xC-Series to date. As a space designed for reverberant excitation by the choral songs of old, which now hosts a myriad of services and events, the requirement and challenge of this project was to deliver a sound system like no other. To enable a platform for transparency, engagement and spiritual intimacy no matter the expression of Worship.

d&b Partner, Wigwam, part of SSE Audio Group and now Solotech, in response to a commission from church leaders, commenced work on a solution capable of delivering the spoken word without distraction, and reinforcing live music for a variety of events within the Cathedral situated at the heart of Christianity in the north of England since the seventh century.

Wigwam Installation Manager Phil Goldsworthy was familiar with the 2-way passive column loudspeakers from the d&b xC-Series, which are elegantly engineered to provide effective solutions for acoustically challenging environments whilst being architecturally complementary to their surroundings. Inevitably, a RAL color matched system was the perfect companion to the soaring masonry on display throughout the Ministry.
