Inspired by the depth of emotion he witnessed at vinyl listening sessions organized during his tenure at the Bridgestone Museum of Arts in Tokyo, Hideo Matsushita was determined to enable more people to experience the warmth of analog listening. In a small Shinjuku apartment, he established Audio-Technica and began developing cartridges. His first two products, the AT-1 and AT-3, achieved success and enabled Hideo to expand his business. He opened a larger headquarters in Machida, where the company still operates today.

April 17, 2022, marked 60 years since Hideo created his first cartridge and Audio-Technica will mark this occasion by reaffirming its commitment to analog. Focusing on a human-centered approach to the process of generating sound, the company sees analog as an enjoyment and appreciation for audio that doesn’t alter, despite the rapid changes throughout history.

Housed inside a former World War II submarine base in Bordeaux, France, Bassins des Lumières (“Pools of Light”) claims to be the world’s largest digital art center, with more than 13,000 square meters of projection surface to back up the claim. But the immersive exhibitions of classical and contemporary art are not only a visual experience, as each program is accompanied by a complementary and equally enthralling musical score. For precisely controlled and full-fidelity reproduction throughout the highly reverberant spaces, Bassins des Lumières relies on zoned distributed systems of more than 80 Meyer Sound loudspeakers, including — for the most problematic acoustics — 36 CAL® 32 column array loudspeakers with advanced digital beam steering.

All video, audio, and lighting systems for Bassins des Lumières were designed and installed by the French integration firm CADMOS. Project manager and sound designer was Philippe Wojtowicz, aka Wojto, who worked in collaboration with Best Audio, Meyer Sound’s French distributor, on the audio side of the endeavor.

As Easter Approaches, RF Venue Technology is the Choice of Church Integrators for the Big Events

Wireless audio is an essential component of all styles of modern worship, from contemporary to traditional, but it takes on even higher levels of importance for special and seasonal event production. That will be on display on Sunday, April 17, this year, when thousands of churches worldwide undertake their annual Easter productions. These will range from simply some additional musicians onstage to elaborate, professional-caliber theatrical events. For all of them, the wireless microphones that they rely on for every service during the year have to perform flawlessly for often much larger congregations. Special events often require an extended presentation space, meaning flawless wireless performance is needed in parts of a sanctuary not typically used on most Sundays, and some churches will add a dozen or more additional channels of wireless for more robust productions that may run for a week or longer. Simple or sophisticated, no matter what the special event calls for, AV systems integrators can rely on technology and products from RF Venue, Inc., a leading global developer and manufacturer of antenna and RF communications products, to assure their house-of-worship customers that their wireless audio will meet every challenge.
