Los Pentecostales de Newport News is a Pentecostal church serving the Hispanic community in Newport News, Virginia. With seemingly-boundless energy, Pastor Mario Zunzunegui delivers impassioned services and encourages strong community bonds. The band that supports him is talented and sounds its best at high volume and with abundant bass. Los Pentecostales had a high-performance sound reinforcement system that most churches – and indeed many clubs – would find more than adequate. But when local production and integration firm Sound Ideas provided a Danley rig for an outdoor Covid-19 service, Pastor Mario and the rest of the congregation saw new possibilities for clarity and impact. After a successful indoor demo, the church now has its own high-impact Danley system composed of SM80F full range loudspeakers FLX12 monitors, and a DNA 20k4 Pro amplifier.

Los Pentecostales de Newport started out years ago with an MI-grade sound reinforcement system and upgraded significantly three years ago with the help of Sound Ideas (design and installation) and Winter Sound (the actual sale of the equipment). Sound Ideas owner Paul Popadak continued his involvement with the church maintaining the new system. Thus, when Pastor Mario heard that Popadak was helping area churches deliver outdoor services during Virginia’s Covid-19 lockdown, he asked him to help at Los Pentecostales.

Bose Professional today introduces the Bose L1 Pro portable line array systems, the next-level advancement of a PA category invented by Bose 17 years ago with the release of the original L1. The L1 Pro systems usher in a new era of on-the-go audio for singer-songwriters, mobile DJs and bands. The three new systems — the L1 Pro8, the L1 Pro16, and L1 Pro32 with its choice of two subwoofers — offer legendary 180-degree horizontal coverage along with unmatched clarity and tonal balance. A unique RaceTrack woofer design integrated into the L1 Pro8, L1 Pro16 and the Bose Sub1 and Sub2 modular subwoofers, provides extended base response and less bulk, making the subwoofers much easier to transport, carry, and fit onstage. Built-in multi-channel mixers offer EQ, reverb and phantom power, while Bluetooth® streaming capabilities and access to the complete library of ToneMatch custom EQ presets, allows performers to play with recording-studio tonal quality.

These three new portable PA systems are designed to give artists choices, suit different styles and audiences, and provide an impressive solution for creators reintroducing live music and sound experiences into venues and online platforms across the world today. The ultra-portable L1 Pro8 provides a perfect solution for intimate spaces; the portable-with-punch L1 Pro16 performs exceptionally in small-to-medium spaces; and the peak-performance L1 Pro32 is an unrivalled portable system for entertaining large audiences. With a modular design, each system is easy to pack, carry and set up, and this new generation offers a truly stunning size-to-performance ratio.

Situated in the Melbourne’s east, the community at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church was being crowded out by a suburb fast-tracked for urban growth.

Needing to relocate to a quieter location with room to expand, they became aware that a short distance down the road the St. James Uniting Church, with its striking mid-century early modern architecture, was looking to sell.

It looked a perfect fit. A deal was done which duly led to a full-blown renovation of the church, including a sensitive, high quality audio visual fitout in the heritage-listed building. This included a Martin Audio O-Line as the sound reinforcement system.

The first plug-and-play endpoint that bridges AVB and Dante® networks, the PreSonus® AVB-D16 16×16 AVB-to-Dante Bridge enables you to send and receive up to 16 audio channels between PreSonus StudioLive® Series III mixers and a Dante network. With one or more AVB-D16s, you can easily integrate PreSonus StudioLive® Series III mixers, NSB-series stage boxes, and EarMix 16M personal monitor mixers with Dante-enabled DSPs and other Dante-enabled products, such as PreSonus CDL-12 constant directivity loudspeakers.

The AVB-D16 supports AVB audio at 44.1 and 48 kHz and Dante audio at 44.1, 48, 88.2, and 96 kHz. Built-in asynchronous sample-rate conversion ensures that the AVB-D16 provides precision clock isolation between the AVB and Dante networks for pristine, clear audio with no dropouts or artifacts. This also allows you to run different sample rates on the AVB and Dante networks, so even if you’re operating a Dante network at 96 kHz, you can still connect streams between your StudioLive Series III AVB network operating at 48 kHz with total confidence that the audio will be clean and error free.

L-Acoustics rounds out its industry-leading K Series with the introduction of K3, the manufacturer’s smallest full-range enclosure, designed to deliver big sound for mid-size events with audiences ranging from 1,000 to 10,000. K3 provides full-range bandwidth, without the need for a flown companion subwoofer. Its highly efficient design reduces amplification needs. These features make K3 faster and simpler, as well as more economical and sustainable to deploy.”

“K3 is ready for the events of today and tomorrow,” shares L-Acoustics Executive Director of Application Design Florent Bernard. “Our design team created a dual-12-inch-based system with the form factor and price of a 10-inch design, without the inherent performance compromises of 10-inch loudspeakers. K3 offers long-throw, full-range performance in a compact, accessible package, tailor-made for small to mid-capacity events and venues that are the mainstay of most sound providers. It is a ‘no compromises’ tool, perfectly adapted to the current event landscape and, when paired with K1 and K2, is quickly and powerfully scalable for large-capacity events.”

Yamaha today introduced the CP OS v1.4 update for the CP73 and CP88 stage pianos. With new Voices, improved workflow and additions to the popular Sub Section, the CP73 and CP88 once again set the bar for intuitive operation, sound and playability in a professional instrument.

The new OS v1.4 builds upon the keyboards’ previous update, CP OS v1.3, with two added Voices for greater studio and performance options. The new Nashville C3 Voice offers players an inspiring vintage grand piano sound with the characteristic sounds of Nashville. The samples were processed using analog tape at Yamaha Entertainment Group studios in order to create its vintage character. The new CF3 Live Voice was added at players’ request for the second characteristic sound of the Yamaha CP300 stage piano after the addition of the CFIII acoustic grand piano in the previous update. The CP300 is known for being able to cut through dense arrangements, with a bright, powerful sound. The Voice has been optimized for an even better presence in a mix and will be featured prominently in large line-ups.
