Meyer Sound PANTHER Redefines Large‑Scale Line Array Technology

Meyer Sound announces PANTHER, a new flagship linear line array loudspeaker engineered to meet rapidly evolving demands for large-scale touring and installed systems.

Complex and visually-focused production scenarios, coupled with tighter safety regulations, often restrict the space and weight allowed for loudspeakers. At the same time, environmental policies require greater energy efficiency and a smaller footprint for transport as more productions shift to a networked signal infrastructure. Responding to these demands, PANTHER’s acoustic output is closer to the significantly larger and heavier LEO line array loudspeaker and occupies the slender form factor of the existing LYON line array loudspeaker. Despite stadium levels of performance, PANTHER weighs just 150 lb (68 kg) and offers substantial savings on current draw from the previous generation flagship line array loudspeaker. A dual analog/Milan AVB network input module means PANTHER offers flexible signal distribution options and each cabinet comes standard with an IP55 weather protection rating — all at a substantially lower initial cost compared to LEO and LYON.

How to Choose The Right Wireless Microphone

Houses of Worship aim to create an immersive experience for their congregation. Services are about sharing the message and empowering others to lift their voices in praise and song. From the vocalists to small instrument groups and clergy, all need to be heard clearly and precisely throughout the sanctuary.

For many small-to-medium-sized Houses of Worship, they may not be able to employ a dedicated audio technology team lead to help set up microphones and ensure there is no disconnect between what you hear and what you see. This means that the tools you do purchase and learn need to be adaptable and easy to set up. When purchasing mics and wireless systems to power them, there are several things to consider when making the right investment for your sanctuary space.

Technology’s Potential to Transform Worship For All

I’ve been booed off stage. Wait – it gets worse. I’ve been booed off stage, in a church, on a Sunday. I remember sitting on the stage after that opening night of our Christmas production years ago knowing we had a 14-night run of this theatrical catastrophe ahead of us. Meanwhile, a pastor waited to have a “word” with us in his office. I still shudder at the memory more than two decades later.

Leaving behind the boos, there were also cheers. I’ve witnessed thousands of congregants transported during a worship service where everything – the music, the message, the visuals, all of it – simply worked.
So it’s undoubtedly worth taking the time to understand the role that technology can play in determining whether our efforts are rewarded with boos or cheers.

Multi-Campus Events Come Alive

In Audio, home_page, Image, Text, Web Articlesby tfwm

Technological agility allows churches to keep serving their congregations when in-person meetings need to be avoided or when driving long hours tends to become a burden. The sheer size and geographical spread of some churches encourages operators to think outside the box to find ways of allowing all members to follow services from different on- or off-campus locations. Without sacrificing that powerful feeling of togetherness among attendees in different places.

Distributing video footage and audio signals to a variety of on-campus locations is rather easy and nothing new. Including other campuses that may be several hundred or thousand miles away, on the other hand, is slightly trickier but perfectly feasible. If no interactive elements, like a dialogue, sermon, or performance from another location are involved, signal delay is not really an issue. Just about any viable approach can potentially be used to get video and audio from A to B and beyond.
