NEXO’s ETC training program has grown significantly since its inception in 2013. Essentially organized into three categories, starting with the introductory ETC1 followed by the next-level course for users of NEXO equipment (ETC2), and finally, ETC3 a specialist pro-engineer tutorial. The training division has just pioneered its first ETC2i seminar, dedicated to the preparation, design, and implementation of fixed installations.
Yamaha Commercial Audio organized a remarkable ETC1 seminar at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida staging it alongside a presentation of Dante and CL Digital Audio Consoles by the Yamaha Commercial Audio Training Seminars (YCATS) team.

Long has been using DPA mics for over a decade, but only recently tried out the d:facto vocal mic. “This past spring was my first time using the d:facto vocal mic,” says Long. “Amy’s voice is amazing and it sounds great through pretty much any mic I’ve heard her sing into. The challenge is, she sings extremely soft, so off-axis rejection is a big consideration, as is handling noise. Since she’s singing soft, the mic preamp has to be cranked up, so a mic that is only slightly susceptible to handling noise with another vocalist becomes a significant concern with Amy. Ryan Lewis, who was my system tech last year, has golden ears and insisted I give the d:facto a try. Once I did, there was no going back. It has virtually no handling noise at all and it sounds simply stunning.”

The last time the Central Baptist Church of Americus, Georgia, got a new sound system, the church’s music was focused around the traditional elements of choir and organ. Times changed, and so did the church’s style of worship, which has expanded to encompass more contemporary forms of praise and worship music, with electric guitars and drums joining the joyful noise.
