unnamedChristian Assembly Church in Los Angeles, Calif., first began as a small prayer group of Italians during the Azusa Street Revival Movement in the early 1900s. Since its establishment, the church has been focused on promoting a welcoming and open place for everyone in the community and has grown considerably over the years, with close to 3,000 worshippers attending services each week. The current church was built in 1976, and by 2010, was due for a major renovation project, including a completely new suite of wireless systems and microphones. For the audio overhaul, Dirk Bolle, IT/Tech support specialist, turned to the Shure UHF-R® Wireless System and KSM8 Dualdyne™ Vocal Microphones to ensure consistent and flawless performances from the worship leader and vocalists.

First Baptist Church of Manchester, TN, Ups Its Services with Danley Speakers and Ashly Powered Dante Connectivity

In Install Newsby admin

FBC_Manchester_InteriorLike many contemporary churches, First Baptist Church of Manchester, Tennessee has undergone a transformation in the style and energy of its services. Years ago, services centered on sermons augmented by music played by organ, piano or choir. Thus, in a room that seats nine hundred, the demands on the sound reinforcement system were rather light. But that has changed – and dramatically. These days FBC punctuates sermons with a full band comprised of rock ‘n roll instruments. The church’s old sound reinforcement system couldn’t keep up! Audio/video integration firm Centerline Audio Visual, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, stepped in to design simple, yet powerful, stereo reinforcement consisting of two Danley SM-100B full-range loudspeakers buttressed from below by a Danley BC-218 subwoofer, with Ashly Audio nXp-Series network multi-mode amplifiers providing power, integrated DSP, and Dante connectivity.

dLive S7000 Brings Versatile Mixing for Pageants and Broadcast with Ease of Use for Volunteers

DreamCityDream City is a large and growing church with a central campus in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2015, the church added a campus in Scottsdale, Arizona and renovated its 5000-seat Phoenix location. In early 2016, Dream City added a third campus in Glendale, Arizona. As part of its expansion program, the church acquired two Allen & Heath dLive S7000 mixers with DM64 and DM32 MixRacks for its Phoenix location along with twenty ME-1 Personal Mixers and two ME-U Monitor Hubs. The church also acquired a dLive S3000 mixer, DM64 MixRack and ten ME-1s for its Scottsdale location and plans to add another dLive S7000 and DM64 in Glendale this year.

Shawn Smith is Dream City’s Media Director. He says the church previously mixed on a large, analog setup that had 112 inputs with 24 returns and took up sixteen feet of mix booth space. However, even this high channel count was barely adequate for Dream City’s elaborate holiday pageants which may use 110 or more audio channels. The church’s previous analog mixer required several operators for these large productions.

Old North Church Updates with Community I SERIES

untitledHistoric Church Adds New Audio System with Community I SERIES Loudspeakers

From a bible study group started in 1936, Old North Church has grown to over 1,300 members and attendees. The Church’s modern new building includes a 1,000-seat sanctuary, a library, classrooms, and a family life center (gymnasium).

Executive Pastor Chris Drombetta says the church’s worship gatherings prioritize Biblical preaching and teaching, supported by music, and a blend of traditional and modern expressions of the gospel. Many of these expressions utilize new dynamic technologies, such as the recently installed loudspeaker system.

Drombetta emphasized “the message must be crystal clear.” Yet, the church sanctuary has multiple reflecting surfaces and the church’s original loudspeaker system was forty feet in the air. Thus, despite the addition of front-fill and delayed loudspeakers above the balcony, it was difficult to hear and understand the spoken and sung word in many parts of the sanctuary.

MartinSolutions of Olympia, WA recently installed a Martin Audio CDD system in the main worship space of the new StoneBridge Millard Campus.

A new build at the site of a former outlet store, the campus is built around a worship space in a small rectangular 50 ft. by 80 ft. room with its own set of unique challenges.

As Mike Sessler, Project Lead for CCI explains, “It’s an unusual space with a corner-loaded stage and a low ceiling with lots of HVAC structural equipment that slopes down from 19 ft. to about 17 ft. at the back of the seating area.

“Because the stage is in the corner of a long room, we had an extended throw down the long wall, a short throw to the wall on the other side and another throw to the opposite corner where FOH is located.

Alpha & Omega Church_1Total Audio & Visual Solutions adds “modern touch” of dynamic lighting to create an impressionable environment for youth ministry facility

Alpha & Omega Church in Miami was looking for a dynamic lighting solution for their newly remodeled Next Level Youth ministry auditorium, something both welcoming and energetic, and found the flexibility they were looking for in an Elation Professional lighting package of LED lights and Platinum Series moving heads.

Total Audio & Visual Solutions (TAVS) of Miami installed the lighting system upgrade during a refurbishment of the space, one that allowed the South Florida production and rental company to start with a fresh canvas. “What I wanted to accomplish with the lighting design was to create an environment where it would leave a great impression on anyone who would be a part of the services,” commented Total Audio & Visual Solutions’ Chris Fernandez, lighting designer on the project. “This design was specifically for their youth building and we wanted to add a modern touch to their auditorium.”
