Alpha & Omega Church_1Total Audio & Visual Solutions adds “modern touch” of dynamic lighting to create an impressionable environment for youth ministry facility

Alpha & Omega Church in Miami was looking for a dynamic lighting solution for their newly remodeled Next Level Youth ministry auditorium, something both welcoming and energetic, and found the flexibility they were looking for in an Elation Professional lighting package of LED lights and Platinum Series moving heads.

Total Audio & Visual Solutions (TAVS) of Miami installed the lighting system upgrade during a refurbishment of the space, one that allowed the South Florida production and rental company to start with a fresh canvas. “What I wanted to accomplish with the lighting design was to create an environment where it would leave a great impression on anyone who would be a part of the services,” commented Total Audio & Visual Solutions’ Chris Fernandez, lighting designer on the project. “This design was specifically for their youth building and we wanted to add a modern touch to their auditorium.”

NorthRidge Church Enters Its Second Generation Of DiGiCo Desks With Two New SD7 Consoles

In Install Newsby admin

DiGiCo_NorthRidge_monWith four campuses in Michigan and over 20,000 weekly attendees, NorthRidge Church—in the Detroit suburbs of Plymouth and Saline, and the cities of Grosse Ile and Brighton—now ranks as one of the 30 largest churches in the US. To best accommodate the remarkable growth and support its increasingly sophisticated worship services, pageants, concerts and other events, the church’s flagship location in Plymouth recently purchased two DiGiCo SD7 consoles. Sold through REACH Communications of Champlin, Minnesota, the two new desks replace three DiGiCo CS-D5 consoles that had been in place there for eight years.

The SD7s, which are used to mix front of house and monitors, were installed in the church’s 3,000-seat main auditorium in time to support this year’s Easter musical and worship events. According to NorthRidge Church Audio Director Mike Duff, the desks are ideal for major productions like this, as well as the church’s annual “Glory of Christmas” event, which features a full orchestra and choir. “We needed a higher channel count, for starters,” says Duff. “But we also wanted to continue to enjoy DiGiCo’s workflow, which we really began to appreciate while using the CS-D5 consoles.”

elektraLite Dazer LEDs Celebrated at Iowa Church

In Install Newsby admin

elektraLite_Celebrate_1Fluorescent lights may “get the job done” in illuminating a room, but they can certainly be unforgiving in terms of setting a mood, something especially important in a house of worship setting. With that in mind, Celebrate Community Church of Knoxville, Iowa recently upgraded its lighting facilities with the addition of a new system comprised of 24 elektraLite Dazer LEDs controlled by a new Avolites Titan Mobile desk.

“Our old fluorescent lights were outdated and expensive to replace,” explains Judd Nelson, the church’s director of facilities and congregational care. “Plus, we wanted something that would allow us to control the mood of the room,” he says, adding that the sanctuary seats over 500 people with average attendance for services at around 400.

Shepherds Grove Aqua_The Hour of Power broadcast from Shepherd’s Grove church has touched countless lives through its uplifting and inspiring messages. Recently, the church decided to enhance the quality of its world-famous broadcast services even further by switching to an all-LED lighting system. A key part of this lighting upgrade is a beautiful and engaging colorwash on the wall behind the altar, provided by a collection of 41 Colorist 12Qa linear RGBA fixtures from the ILUMINARC division of CHAUVET Professional.

“Chad Blake, the Executive Pastor of Shepherd’s Grove, and his team gave us a clear directive to add a new all-LED lighting system that would lend a fresh look to their worldwide broadcast services,” said Kent Flemming, project manager at Pacific Coast Entertainment, which installed the new lighting system. “Since moving out of the Crystal Cathedral, the Hour of Power hasn’t had the ideal lighting system for its broadcasts. Pastor Blake and his team wanted LED fixtures for the rich colors and quality of the light they deliver, as well as the added energy efficiency they bring.”

SSL L500 READY FOR ANYTHING AT CHRIST COMMUNITY CHURCH

In Install Newsby admin

MichaelMontanari_ChristCommunityChurch“It is a phenomenal sounding console, but for us the flexibility and the configurability of the L500 is its biggest selling point.”

Christ Community Church Technical Director Michael Montanari has specified SSL L500 consoles for both Front of House and Monitor positions at its St Charles campus. The consoles were purchased from SSL Live partner TC Furlong.

The 2000 capacity St Charles Campus auditorium has a regular Saturday afternoon service and two Sunday morning services, as well as a number of larger events throughout the year, including special worship nights and visiting touring acts. The Sunday services are streamed live over a dedicated fibre network live to the church’s other three regional campuses. “We put a high value on production,” says Montanari. “Concert-style audio, but probably not at quite as high an SPL!”

As most production crew and artists at the church are volunteers, the challenge for Montanari was finding technology that could deliver a big step up in quality, as well as being intuitive and flexible enough to accommodate a wide range of operators: “We want really high end audio, we want it to be able to handle everything that a professional audio guy can throw at a console, but it also has to be able to be run by a volunteer.

Let There be Sound: APG Completes First Uniline Church Installation in China

untitledAPG North East Asia has announced completion of its first Uniline house of worship installation in China. Situated in Shantou, the 3,000 capacity Shantou Sheng Ming Tang church is one of the biggest in the Guangdong province.

The project was carried out by MPHK Group Ltd, the Hong Kong based APG dealer, who installed the entire sound system as well as HD video and LED stage lighting solutions. The project was completed in just a month, from system design to implementation.

“The main acoustical challenge was to overcome the unwanted resonance due to the size of the church,” remembers APG North and Eastern Asia Managing Director Raymond Wong. “Its high ceilings and the presence of two corridors on each side of the room were challenging as they created unwanted resonance. Because the Uniline range is easily controllable, we knew we would easily overcome those challenges and provide consistent coverage and high intelligibility for the public”
