Eiki Projectors Deliver Clarity at Calvary Aurora
Founded in December of 1999 as a small non-denominational church, Calvary Aurora is one of the many affiliates of Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, CA, which today is home to some 30,000 believers. Calvary Aurora is home to a wide range of ministries geared towards children, youth, and adults from all walks of life. To further ensure that its message is relevant and engaging, the church recently upgraded its video projection capabilities—drawing from the product catalog of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA-based Eiki International, Inc.
The new video system was designed and installed by Brett Nelson of Nelson Audio & Light of Eldon, MO, a sound, lighting, and video integrator that caters primarily to the worship and education markets. After consulting with church leadership to ascertain their goals and expectations, the decision was made to deploy four Eiki projectors: two LC-HDT2000 HD widescreen projectors with 15,000 ANSI lumens brightness, a 3000:1 contrast ratio, and native 2K resolution, and two LC-HDT700 HD widescreen projectors featuring 7,000 ANSI lumens brightness, a 2700:1 contrast ratio, with native 1080p resolution. If you seek inspiration and perhaps a dose of humility, you might visit Montreal’s magnificent Marie-Reine-Du-Monde Basilique Cathedrale (Mary Queen of the World Cathedral Basilica). Spire AVL of Carslile, PA has replaced an older digital mixer at the West Shore Church in Mechanicsburg with an Allen & Heath dLive S7000 Surface. Spire AVL’s Seth Shoemaker explained the upgrade. “The church’s previous mixer had experienced technical difficulties and added nearly 25msec of latency in its processing,” he said. “We recommended the dLive because we knew it was a reliable mixer with very low latency and the drag-and-drop touch screens would simplify setups. We also provided fourteen ME-1 Personal Monitor Mixers to give the church’s musicians the ability to do their own in-ear monitor mix and we knew the dLive would integrate all of this very nicely.”
When announcing that they would be opening their first permanent off-site campus, leaders of StoneBridge Christian Church called it a “journey of faith,” proclaiming that their church, which began in 1908 with only eight members, would continue to grow and attract new worshippers. Like all journeys of faith, however, this one was not without its challenges.
