IHSE USA Now Shipping Draco DPS KVM 4X1 Desktop Switches

IHSE USA is now shipping its new Draco DPS 4X1 KVM desktop series switches. Offering a wide range of features that makes them among the most flexible 4X1 KVM switches currently available, the OS- and software-agnostic Draco DPS KVM 4X1 desktop switches are designed to allow quick customization to support multiple displays.

"As video standards continue to evolve, such as dual- or quad-head 4K resolutions, integrators must match video hardware with the right type of switch or display management system," said Dan Holland, marketing manager at IHSE USA. "This complex task is especially difficult when multiple computers need to be accessed at the same workstation area that may be working across different platforms or networks. For users who need to monitor or manage several computers, the DPS 4X1 provides an easy way to access them with a single mouse and keyboard while meeting evolving requirements."

IHSE kvm-tec Gateway2go Secures Best of Show Award at InfoComm 202

IHSE USA today announced that its IHSE kvm-tec Gateway2go app received a Best of Show award from Sound & Video Contractor magazine at InfoComm 2022 in Las Vegas. A judging panel made up of AV experts evaluated the Windows-based app during the show. The innovative software solution allows users to connect to the switching network at any time and display a live image of a specific local unit.

"Remote workers present a unique challenge to protect confidential company data because remote work environments don't have the same safeguards in place that would be found in an office environment," said Dan Holland, marketing manager at IHSE USA. "We developed the Gateway2go with an eye on the growing security risks that remote work presents while ensuring users can connect just as simply and reliably as if they were local. Thank you, SVC and the judges for seeing how we're working hard to align to our switching solutions with the quickly evolving state of the industry."

Jonathan and Melissa Helser Record Live Worship Album Using DPA Microphones

With their home serving as a pastoral, inspirational setting, Christian music duo Jonathan and Melissa Helser chose to record their latest live worship album at their farm, alongside family and friends. To enhance the album, entitled The Land I’m Livin’ In, the duo also chose to film the sessions, which added a personal touch. The Helsers turned to Brad King, engineer and co-owner of worship sound production studio Creak Music, for all the recording and mixing work necessary to achieve their artistic vision. Knowing it was imperative to capture the Helser’s vocal stylings as well as the unique environment in which they were recording, King turned to DPA Microphones for the natural sound and clarity the new album deserved.

Having previously used DPA mics on live recording projects, King knew that the brand would be the best option for miking both the vocals and instruments properly. “I’ve loved every mic I’ve ever used,” he says. “So, for this project, we started chatting with DPA about what to use, and we put together a whole list, which turned out great. Among the many benefits of using DPA is the small form-factor of the mics.”

DiGiCo Announces New Software Update for S-Series Consoles

DiGiCo is delighted to announce the release of its latest Version 3.0 software update, dramatically increasing the processing power of its small-footprint, cost-effective S-Series consoles. TWIST IST Ties the Knot With JVC Professional Video

Since 1997, TWIST Integration Solutions Technology (TWIST IST) has been supplying the professional broadcast markets of Houston and the surrounding areas with AV integrations for optimum performance. When presented with the opportunity to manage the audio and video installation at a new wedding facility for Word of Restoration International Church (WORIC), TWIST IST Vice President Scott Cantrell knew he needed to integrate high-quality, flexible and budget-friendly cameras. To satisfy these requirements, Cantrell turned to JVC Professional Video, a division of JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation.

While planning the AV integration for the dedicated marriage space, which includes a chapel and reception hall, Cantrell selected two GY-HC900 CONNECTED CAM™ camcorders, each with a 20x lens and seven-inch JVC ProHD on-camera viewfinder monitor, as well as four KY-PZ100 PTZ cameras. Cantrell and his team also designed a new central control room/studio, which features a JVC DT-N21H ProHD Broadcast Studio LCD monitor, along with the RM-LP250M and RM-LP100 Remote Control Panels, to manage the GY-HC900 and PTZ cameras, respectively.

The Church For All Nations Solves Wireless Challenges With Components From RF Venue

The Church For All Nations in Colorado Springs, CO, had a problem. Actually, they had a multifaceted problem: its RF wireless microphone and IEM systems were experiencing regular dropouts and signal fades during services and even rehearsals. The RF products the church was employing, such as antennas and combiners, were not working effectively – or at all, in some instances – and the church’s own knowledge base was shaky on the complex topic of RF management. Luckily, a set of online resources from RF Venue got the church’s technical personnel on the right track, leading to a more knowledgeable staff and eventually an updated system of RF Venue components.

“RF has gotten progressively harder and harder to deal with in the last few years,” says David Cowart, an associate pastor at Church For All Nations and occasionally its sound mixer, a role he shares with several other staff there. Citing the loss of spectrum over the last decade-plus as the FCC has auctioned off frequencies in the key areas used by wireless microphones, Cowart found in that time that even many AV systems integrators, who were otherwise savvy and knowledgeable when it came to most audio and video systems, had significant gaps in their understanding of RF.
