PreSonus® Audio Technology Brings Clarity of Message to Brooks United Methodist Church

In Audio, home_page, Install News, Uncategorizedby admin

Seeking to equip, encourage, empower, and impact its congregation for a meaningful worship experience, Brooks United Methodist Church (UMC) offers a comprehensive range of ministries to better engage its congregation. Guided by the Rev. Jason L. Robinson, the church recently opened its brand-new worship center. To ensure the congregation could hear clearly and enjoy the music, a capable sound reinforcement system was deemed essential. Ultimately, church management selected mixer and loudspeaker technology drawn from the catalog of PreSonus Audio Electronics (www.presonus.com) of Baton Rouge, LA.

SSP Custom Sound LLC of York, PA, a design / build AV integration and live sound production firm, was contracted to design and deploy the church’s new sound reinforcement system. After consulting with church officials, the decision was made to install PreSonus StudioLive RM32AI and RM16AI 32- and 16-channel rack mount digital mixers with Active Integration, cascaded through an AVB Network along with a PreSonus CS18AI Ethernet/AVB control surface. For loudspeakers, the SSP Custom Sound team deployed two PreSonus WorxAudio X3 all-in-one compact line arrays augmented by two PreSonus WorxAudio X115S high SPL subwoofers. Steven Pappas, owner, system designer, and audio engineer for SSP Custom Sound LLC, discussed the project.

AGI Installs NEXO and Yamaha for Lawton First Assembly

In Audio, home_page, Install Newsby admin

Lawton First Assembly located in Lawton, Oklahoma has a 10-year history with AGI Professional of Eugene, Oregon. “We needed an AVL company that would understand what our needs were,” states Senior Pastor Don Barnes. “Our church was so outdated, we even had the original red carpet. We were in need of a facelift and without a large budget, AGI always looks ahead so we don’t spend money on products that would soon be obsolete. Greg Slape (AGI owner) knows the church as well as he knows the technology.” The company was again chosen to specify and install complete audio, video, and lighting systems first in the youth auditorium followed by the sanctuary.

The youth auditorium consists of stereo left/right NEXO GEO S1210 arrays, five per side, a NEXO GEO S1230 per side, four PS8 speakers for front fills, four PS10s used as monitor wedges, and two RS18 subwoofers. The center speech array consists of eight NEXO GEO S8s, a Yamaha M7CL-48 Digital Audio Console, and Panasonic video projection.

Willow Creek Community Church Gets Massive Audio System Upgrade Including Focusrite RedNet Components

In Audio, home_page, Install Newsby admin

Willow Creek Community Church is among the largest worship facilities in the U.S., serving a weekly congregation of 26,000 in the Chicagoland area. The church’s 800,000-square-foot main campus, located in South Barrington, Illinois, recently underwent a major upgrade to its AV systems, including Yamaha FOH, monitor and broadcast consoles, a robust Dante™ network infrastructure, Cisco network switches, Meyer Sound MILO and M2D systems and much more. Helping to distribute the audio between each location is a number of RedNet Dante-networked audio interfaces from Focusrite.

As with many modern churches, AV production takes a central role in worship, including video screens and closed-circuit feeds, broadcast and streaming, and more. Matt Wentz, who has been with the church for the past 11 years and for the past six the Audio Systems Engineer, notes, “Our whole production team is as many as 30 people total, and they’re broken up into three smaller crews. We updated our video systems last year, and it was important we upgrade the audio to keep up. Dante was clearly the right solution as far as networking such a big campus, and we were running into some conversion issues here and there. After doing extensive research, I acquired a RedNet 6 interface, and the rest sort of came together piece by piece.”
