The Central Christian Church Mesa Campus recently completed an overhaul of its main worship center built around a Martin Audio MLA Compact system.

According to lead audio engineer Milk Arnold, “the system consists of four hangs with six MLA Compact enclosures each above the thrust but all the way back against the proscenium––the pastor actually stands in front of the PA. We also have four Martin Audio DD6s as lip fills that give us amazing coverage for the front rows.”

The building that houses the 1900-seat worship center was built in the late seventies with a balcony built for future use that was never completed and is now unused, posing a legitimate challenge for any speaker system.

Parkview Christian Church Easter Services Get Big Looks From CHAUVET Professional Rogues

unnamedIn 1948 two women on a train bound for Chicago prayed and talked together about ways they could better serve God. By the time they reached their destination, the seeds for what would become Parkview Christian Church were born. To some it might seem unlikely that such an encounter would lead to the formation of a vibrant church that, even as it passed its 50th anniversary, would be ranked as one of the 100 fastest growing houses of worship in the US by Outreach Magazine.

Parkview Christian, though, has made a habit of achieving surprising things though its history. Starting out in a storefront, the church has grown steadily into a two-campus house of worship by working to meet the changing needs and expectations of worshippers. The latest example of this was the engaging Easter service production at its Orland Park campus, which achieved a beautiful balance between engendering a warm welcoming feeling and generating big exciting looks, thanks in large measure to the skillful deployment of CHAUVET Professional Rogue RH1 Hybrid fixtures, supplied for the occasion from lighting and production company JR Lighting Design, Inc.

Audio-Technica System 10 PRO Wireless Systems Chosen for the New First Southern Baptist Church Building in Pratt, Kansas

FirstSouthernAs the FCC spectrum auction approaches in April 2016, and this fast-growing church faces the loss of the 600-MHz frequency range, the Audio-Technica System 10 PRO system offers interference-free operation in the 2.4 GHz range with the features needed to keep the church’s message coming across loud and clear

The First Southern Baptist Church, a robust congregation of 800 people in Pratt, Kansas, recently had a new church building constructed by Builders for Christ (https://t.e2ma.net/click/tmpep/h9axrb/hxtnje), a non-profit that brings volunteers to construct church buildings for needy congregations. But what no amount of good will can accomplish is the replacement of the RF spectrum that’s being eroded as more of the UHF spectrum — the sweet spot for professional wireless audio systems — disappears as the FCC reallocates more of it for the growing cohort of mobile wireless devices. Brent Handy, Audio, Video, Lighting and Electronics Designer and Sales Consultant at Advanced Sound & Communication in Kansas City, MO, which provided much of the new church’s AV systems, says he initially tried to work with the church’s existing wireless microphone system, but found it was better suited to conference room applications and in any event wasn’t designed to be used in the quantities that the church staff needed them. “The previous contractor did not perform an on-site scan. The quantity of simultaneous systems was not recommended by the manufacturer, and the frequencies chosen weren’t recommended for Pratt, Kansas, by the FCC,” he adds, noting how the area’s agricultural enterprises utilize much of the UHF spectrum for field communications and wireless internet. “After doing research and scanning for a week, we could not find enough UHF frequencies to work reliably.”

AUDIO VIDEO ELECTRONICS FLIES DANLEY SUBS AT REDEEMER BIBLE CHURCH

Redeemer_Church_ExteriorAs the congregation at Redeemer Bible Church in Minnetonka, Minnesota grew steadily larger, its low-ceiling, A-frame sanctuary seemed to grow steadily smaller. Eventually, the inconvenience it created threatened the church’s ability to continue growing, prompting a fundraiser for a newer, bigger, and all-around better sanctuary. Rather than relocate, as many churches are forced to do, Redeemer was able to use its existing real estate for a new 500-seat sanctuary, attaching it to its existing building as a massive addition. Twin Cities-based Station 19 Architects and Audio Video Electronics (AVE) collaborated to design and build an inviting worship space with Danley Sound Labs point-source stereo loudspeakers paired with a flown Danley directional subwoofer array, vibrant video and LED lighting, and speech-enhancing acoustics – all on a budget.

“Redeemer’s old sanctuary (which is now the lobby!) was a very low A-frame design,” explained Stefan Svärd, owner and president of AVE. “The ceiling was so low that projection was difficult, and the acoustics and distributed sound system had less punch than they needed to fully convey the church’s contemporary worship style. By getting involved in the project from its very earliest stages with Station 19, we were able to design a new sanctuary that was not just better than their old system, but excellent in its own right. One of the keys to giving Redeemer great speech intelligibility with well-integrated low end was the careful placement and configuration of Danley Sound Labs loudspeakers and subwoofers.”

TVU NETWORKS EXTENDS FLEXIBILITY OF LIVE BROADCASTS FOR BUDGET-CONSCIOUS REGIONAL CATHOLIC TV STATION

TVUone-bpubag-02-tripod-1024x683For the past 35 years, the Archdiocese of San Antonio’s Catholic television station, CTSA (Catholic Television of San Antonio), has broadcast locally produced video content, created in the studio as well as from the field. As a very active regional diocese, the church wanted to carry more of its offsite celebrations and events live, but CTSA faced budget and staffing limitations. After a successful experience with renting a TVUPack cellular 4G/LTE portable backpack transmitter for an event last year, CTSA was convinced of the solution’s value and cost-effectiveness and purchased one from TVU Networks®.

“One of the missions of CTSA is to serve the community and reach people that might not be able to get out and see things in person. With our new TVU equipment, it gives us a greater reach. The solution increases our station’s presence with cost efficiency,” Patlan stated.

With TVUPack, CTSA has carried local graduations, masses, holiday celebrations and other events live, including the coverage of 10 high school graduations in a span of a few weeks, which would have been impossible before their TVUPack purchase.
