Barbizon Lighting Company Names Tom Madden as President and CEO

The Barbizon Lighting Company announced today that its Board of Directors voted unanimously to appoint Tom Madden as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective November 27, 2017.

“Tom recognizes and deeply values the Barbizon culture, something which initially drew him to the company and which he feels strongly about honoring and fostering” read a statement from the Board of Directors. Madden’s appointment comes after Barbizon Lighting Company’s previous President and CEO, Jonathan Resnick, unexpectedly passed away. “It’s among the many reasons Jonathan thought the world of Tom and we are sure he would agree with our carefully considered choice.”

Chauvet Names John Castelino Vice President of Global Marketing

John Castelino has been appointed Vice President of Global Marketing at Chauvet. In his new position, Castelino will be responsible for Chauvet’s entire brand portfolio which includes: CHAUVET Professional, CHAUVET DJ, ILUMINARC, TRUSST and ChamSys.

Castelino joins Chauvet after a distinguished career at Stanley Black & Decker, where he served as Vice President of Product Management and Marketing. During his time at Stanley Black & Decker, Castelino led some of the company’s largest brand portfolios such as DEWALT and Mac Tools.

“John’s experience, leadership and passion for brand building make him a valuable addition to our management team,” said Berenice Chauvet, shareholder and senior advisor to Chauvet. “We have built Chauvet into a leading and trusted name in the entertainment and architectural lighting industries. Proteus™ Bridge of Light for Reformation Anniversary in Worms, Germany

LD Thomas Gerdon finds lighting solution in powerful IP65 Proteus Hybrid™
It has been 500 years since Martin Luther sparked the Reformation and the German city of Worms, which played a central role in the movement, has been marking the event throughout the year. From October 27th to November 1st, a spectacular “Ecumenical Bridge of Light” was cast between the city’s St. Peter’s Cathedral and the Luther Church using Elation Professional Proteus Hybrid™ moving heads.

Lighting designer Thomas Gerdon was contacted by the city to connect the lofty Catholic Cathedral with the Protestant Luther Church in a bridge of light intended to express the bond between Catholics and Protestants. “Even though they are separate religions, they are still connected by the Christian faith,” Gerdon says of the reason behind the project. “The bridge of light was meant to visualize this connection as a symbolic meeting of the two great faiths in partnership.”
