SSL to showcase NGA and immersive workflows with Fraunhofer, Sennheiser and Spiritland Productions

OXFORD, ENGLAND – IBC 2019 (Stand 8D.83). Following last year’s in-depth immersive release on their System T broadcast production platform, Solid State Logic (SSL) will be working with partners at IBC 2019 to present the realities of multi-format audio in action. With support for ATSC 3.0, Dolby Atmos, and MPEG-H, plus the recent Sennheiser AMBEO partnership, visitors can experience the benefits of NGA to enhance the broadcast experience.

Fraunhofer (8.B80) –Visitors can experience an immersive and interactive MPEG-H production with material captured at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. The latest S500m System T console will provide the audio mix as part of an end-to-end immersive presentation which will cover the capture, mix, encode, decode and delivery to a consumer soundbar.

Sennheiser (8.D50) – As a partner within the Sennheiser AMBEO for VR partnership program, SSL will showcase VR mixing with an AMBEO VR Mic as part of their immersive presentations. System T provides on-board A-B format conversion support for the AMBEO VR Mic, with a 360 transcoder to render to a wide range of multi-channel outputs from 4.0 to 7.1.4.
At 4pm each show day there will be a specific presentation on the SSL booth presenting the AMBEO integration and production workflow.

Spiritland Productions (12.F20) – The latest ‘Spiritland One’ OB truck constructed by leading systems integrator, Megahertz, is a purpose-built truck for UK based Spiritland Productions. Based around SSL’s System T S500 audio console, the bespoke truck contains an end-to-end Dante IP infrastructure and is Dolby Atmos and immersive ready, coupling a Dolby DP590 and 7.1.4 Neumann speaker set up to the System T console.
