HelixNet & LQ Series 4.2 Firmware Builds on Existing Robust Functionality of Both Systems
Clear-Com’s latest updates to its HelixNet® Digital Network Partyline and LQ® Series of IP Interfaces builds on the company’s reputation of incorporating user feedback into product development in order to continuously improve its product offering, delivering key improvements on both platforms.
The HelixNet 4.2 Firmware Release adds visual communication, two-way radio capability, and a powerful suite of new capabilities for intercom system administrators looking to tailor intercom stations to specific user workflows. LQ IP Interfaces have the unique ability to connect to any type and brand of intercom or audio device over IP, and the new 4.2 update now adds the ability to Save & Restore LQ unit configuration.

New function features include an “In-Use-Tally” to visually indicate talk activity on individual channels, allowing users to quickly correlate what they hear on their intercom station with individual channels, while also providing a visual cue to those who have removed their headsets or may not be listening.

Biamp Receives US Patent for Magic Cable
Biamp®, a leading supplier of professional audiovisual solutions, today announced that it has been awarded a patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its Magic Cable, used in the company’s Desono family of business audio loudspeakers. Magic Cable comprises two stainless steel suspension cables, two 18 AWG signal conductors within a separate cable jacket, and integrated ripcords that allow the installer to easily slice through the jackets as needed — greatly increasing installation efficiencies.
“Traditionally, hanging pendant speakers has been a time-consuming and complicated job with many steps, each with different tools. Our Magic Cable dramatically simplifies the job and only requires a pair of wire cutters. High quality, highly flexible
The KL PAR FC houses a highly efficient 280W RGBMA LED engine with CCT adjustments possible from 2,400K – 8,500K for precise color temperature control. The full-spectrum LED engine emits beautifully diffused saturates and soft-field pastels, including tunable white light. The unit produces the finest quality of light with high CRI (92) and TLCI (95) values, meaning that color re-creation is extremely accurate both to the eye and to the camera. JVC PROFESSIONAL VIDEO RELEASES NEW SRT-FOCUSED FIRMWARE UPGRADE FOR CONNECTED CAM™ CAMCORDERS
JVC Professional Video, a division of JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation, announces the latest firmware upgrades for its renowned GY-HC900 and GY-HC500 CONNECTED CAM™ camcorders. With the built-in SRT protocol, JVC added Network Adaptive Encoding, reduced latency and the SRT decoder for return video over the internet. These new features enhance video-over IP functionality and position JVC’s CONNECTED CAM as a true leader in REMI applications. A unique portrait mode cropping for streaming to social networks is also now possible with the GY-HC500 Series, a feature that was incorporated based on many users’ requests.
