DPA Microphones and KLANG:technologies Collaborate on Fully Immersive In-Ear Solution

DPA Microphones and KLANG:technologies have teamed up to create a system that will enable live event teams to immerse singers and musicians in their on-stage performances. The solution integrates DPA’s renowned 5100 Mobile Surround Microphone and KLANG’s ground-breaking Immersive Mixing Processor for a fully engrossing experience. In addition to the benefits of KLANG’s panning capabilities, the use of DPA surround mics replaces the need for large quantities of microphones to capture the entire environment.

Initially inspired by high-profile live sound users, the collaboration ultimately came to fruition during a series of workshops between KLANG and DPA. Engineers from the brands saw a natural bridge between the uncoloured DPA sound and the KLANG processing, which makes the system well-suited for everything from small clubs to large arena tours. Dedicated pre-sets can be integrated through the KLANG:app, a control application for all KLANG immersive in-ear mixing processors, including the just released KLANG:vokal and KLANG:kontroller. DiGiCo users can also take advantage of the full workflow implementation on the surface of their SD or Quantum range desks.

Growth in SDVI Rally Platform Usage Signals Media Companies’ Accelerating Adoption of Cloud-Based Media Supply Chains

SDVI, the leading platform provider for cloud-native media supply chains, today disclosed that its usage metrics for the first half of 2021 from the Rally cloud-native media supply chain platform have surpassed equivalent metrics recorded for all of 2020. The dramatic uptick in hours of content managed and processed by Rally signals an accelerated shift among media businesses toward cloud-based media supply chain infrastructure to drive efficiencies and increase business agility.

For the first half of 2021, a total of 15.75 million hours of content passed through the Rally platform, already more than the total for all of 2020 (15.5 million hours). Of that total, 11.2 million hours of content went through Rally's media analysis engine with another 4.6 million hours of content processed (transcode, QC, audio leveling, ML, etc.) through Rally media supply chains. Compared to 125 million jobs completed last year, more than 135 million media processing jobs have been completed on the Rally platform through the first six months of 2021. To support both increased usage and new use cases, SDVI added nine new applications to the SDVI Application Services Market during the first half of 2021, bringing the total number of applications available on a consumption basis to 45.
