Macnica Shines a Light on IPMX Set of Standards at IBC2022
Macnica has played a leadership role in developing and aiding in the definition of emerging open standards that shape Video over IP migration for more than a decade. Macnica now opens a new chapter in that history as a leading proponent of the emerging IPMX set of standards first introduced with the professional AV market in mind.
Introduced by the AIMS Alliance in early 2020, IPMX implements a standards-based approach for AV over IP based on the SMPTE ST 2110 standard. At IBC2022 (September 9-12, RAI Amsterdam), Macnica adds a new twist to the open standards movement by demonstrating how the emerging IPMX set of standards can simplify and accelerate the IP transition in broadcast and live production. Visitors to Macnica’s booth (2.A58) will see a full range of video over IP transport solutions for networks from 1Gb to 100Gb using Macnica’s full suite of SoC, SoM and pure software solutions. The demos will highlight Macnica’s unique ability to address open standards transport across IP networks of varied bandwidth.
Maestro Original Collection Shapes Artist Sounds Around the World
From London’s The Rolling Stones to The Black Keys in the U.S., artists from around the world have been relying on Maestro’s trailblazing sound since its inception in 1962. The same holds true today, as musicians on a global scale welcome the brand’s newest collection of pedals into their studios and live setups.
In France, musician PV Nova has been relying on his new Maestro pedals for several projects. From an influential online career popularizing music writing and editing to creating Internet Orchestra, the largest webcasting performance of 500 musicians, along with being a member of the band for the French musical “Les Franglaises,” Nova is constantly surrounded by music. When presented with the Maestro Original Collection, he loved the impact they had on his workflow. “I am so pleased with the pedals,” he explains. “Having true analog effects makes a huge difference when recording.” Most recently, Nova did a live test of all five new pedals on his Twitch show, where he explained how Maestro will now be integrated among his primary gear on tour.
Pronology Showcases Updated StreamFile Core™ Enterprise Platform at IBC 2022
Pronology, a developer of cutting-edge broadcast workflow solutions, debuts an updated version of its StreamFile Core™ Enterprise web-based software solution, as part of the NDI Central Pavilion at Vizrt Group’s booth at IBC 2022 (Stand 7.CO1).
The latest improvements to StreamFile Core enable SRT streams to be edited in Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, and other edit systems with no video transcoding. This feature alone is invaluable for social media and broadcast production teams in need of a quick turn-around, easy to deploy edit-while-capture workflow. Additional resiliency and robustness improvements allow StreamFile Core to compensate for network latency as well as other common internet bottlenecks. The platform features a refined distributed architecture, as its various modules can run in different geographic locations both in the cloud and on-prem. This architecture is well suited for a SaaS model, which Pronology recently launched through AWS.
RUSHWORKS PTX Model 3 PRO Pan/Tilt Head
The PTX Model 3 PRO pan/tilt head is the larger, more powerful and versatile successor to the company’s PTX Model 1, Model 1L and Model 2 heads that have been marketed worldwide since 2017. Due to supply line uncertainties and materials shortages, we elected to design and manufacture the PTX Model 3 PRO from the ground up. Now built in Texas, USA, this head addresses the expanding need for a more robust platform capable of handling dimensions and payloads of cameras and lenses from virtually all manufacturers.
To maximize compatibility with a wide range of PTZ controllers, the PTX Model 3 PRO uses VISCA over IP communications protocol, extracting pan and tilt-related commands for controlling speed and direction. This assures that even non-technical volunteers will be able to operate it right out of the box. All joystick and presets incorporate smooth speed ramps that simulate what you expect from a skilled operator using a camera on a high-quality fluid head.
