Major PreSonus Sphere Update Adds Powerful Community Feature

PreSonus has released a major update to its PreSonus Sphere™ membership plan, which already includes licenses for award-winning Studio One® Professional, Notion®, and more. PreSonus Sphere’s new Community feature allows members to connect so they can discuss their favorite audio topics with other enthusiasts; share new mixes to get feedback, get advice on the concept art for their next digital release, and more; and even find other PreSonus Sphere members and share a Workspace with them to begin collaborating.

The Community is completely optional for PreSonus Sphere members. Any member who participates in the Community begins by creating a public profile that only PreSonus Sphere members can see. Community members can add a photo, unique cover art, and audio examples of your productions. The public profile also includes a selection of Skills you wish to highlight, such as Arranging, Audio Editing, Composition, Mastering, Mixing, instruments you play, and more. The Skills define default Channels and help other members connect. For example, if you’re looking for feedback on a new mix, you probably want to post in the Mix Channel, where all the mix engineers are hanging out. You can tag multiple Channels for your post as well.

Music City, Here We Come! Cavlo Selects Nashville to Host Next Show

Cavlo trade show selects Music City for its third edition of its regional event. cavlo has evolved to bring together converging needs for the AVL industry: manufacturers of professional audio, video and lighting equipment looking for a cost-effective way to engage with the professionals who specify, install, and use their products and those same individuals looking to connect with those manufacturers without the expense and lost productivity of a cross-country trip.

“Nashville was a natural choice for our next regional show. It’s an entertainment mecca and major metropolitan area with more than 52 million people living within a 5-hour radius. Residents are primarily in the fields of education, healthcare, hospitality and retail with major office headquarters in proximity,” says Managing Director, Mike Brown-Cestero. “I’m proud that cavlo has proven to be a must-attend and exhibit show. Exhibitors also benefit from it being a regional show as they won’t get lost in the back of a large hall. We’ve also managed to be very cost-effective for manufacturers with all-inclusive booth pricing packages. And what our manufacturers like most is the ROI. No need to waste time scanning badges. They can be relaxed and spend quality time with attendees. cavlo is the show for AVL pros to ideate, integrate, and operate with a mix of specifiers, integrators, production folks and end users attending. Our successful shows in Vegas and Dallas proved to be a great combination of education, networking, and trade show exhibits.”

Riedel Intercom System Provides Liverpool Philharmonic With Flexibility and Reliability in Managing Concerts and Events

Riedel Communications today announced that Liverpool Philharmonic has deployed the company's Bolero wireless intercom system in a standalone configuration to enhance communications at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. In the Hall's Art Deco auditorium and smaller Music Room, the Bolero system is replacing an existing wired communications solution to manage and cue concerts, live events, recording activities, and filming work.

Each year, over 350,000 people attend over 400 concerts and events presented at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. These include performances by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra — the oldest continuing professional symphony orchestra in the U.K. — and a diverse lineup of world-class artists, from classical and pop to comedy, film, and spoken word. In addition, Liverpool Philharmonic owns the largest collection of church bells of any U.K. orchestra — 14 in all — which allowed the Orchestra to be the U.K.'s first to perform Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique and others with the correct low bells, as originally specified by the composer.
