Following a hugely successful first leg, the Reunited Thru Light Tour is set to return – bigger and better – as the industry looks towards a brighter future in 2022. This second phase will feature a programmed lightshow showcasing ADJ’s latest entertainment lighting fixtures as well as individual demos of the company’s hottest products. It will also offer an exclusive opportunity to see brand new, soon to be announced, ADJ fixtures in the flesh for the very first time.

“Words can’t describe how much I’ve enjoyed getting back out on the road and seeing ADJ customers, both old and new, in person during the first leg of the Reunited Thru Light tour,” comments ADJ USA’s National Sales Manager, Alfred Gonzales. “I also know that the feeling is mutual as I’ve heard from lots of visitors to the events how much they have valued the opportunity to meet and network in person again with other local industry professionals in a fun and focused environment. For the second phase of the tour, we’re dialing things up a notch with the addition of a programmed light show and exclusive demos of some very exciting new projects. I’m really looking forward to the up-coming events and look forward to welcoming you to your local tour stop!”

ETC’s Eos Family of lighting controllers is known for providing comprehensive, finely tuned control for lighting rigs of all sizes. Now, with the release of Eos v3.1 – the latest major software update for the platform – that control becomes even more customizable to suit any programming style or show. Eos v3.1 is all about you, with new tools that help you set up your workspaces – programming, 3D-visualized, and physical – just the way you want them.

In a fast-paced show environment, you need quick access to all your content. In Eos v3.1, Custom Direct Selects now support thousands of custom target lists, which you can populate with channels, groups, palettes, scenes, and more – along with new navigation tools to help you page quickly between them. A new icon library lets you add images to both Direct Selects and Magic Sheets so that you can identify targets at a glance. The addition of user-defined Encoder Maps also allows you to create custom encoder layouts for all your fixture types using a dedicated and intuitive editor. Show control triggers are now easier to monitor as well – a new Timecode dropdown in the top bar of each display allows you to see your console’s interactions with other devices.

In November of 2018, Elation Professional took one of its award-winning Proteus Hybrid™ IP65-rated moving heads, mounted it to a small truss on the roof of the company’s headquarter building in Los Angeles, and left it there, exposed to the elements, for three years. For nearly two years of that time, the unit ran continuously, some 17,000 hours!

Check out a video of the rooftop Proteus Hybrid at www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKFY0HJPMBE

“It started off as a test subject on top of our roof but as time went on we decided to just leave it up there to see how it would do,” explains Zachary Santana, a Research and Development Technician at Elation. “It’s proven to be a long duration process of non-stop testing and has given us some valuable feedback on how the fixture operates when pushed in an outdoor environment. There’s really no better way to test an IP unit than to expose it to real world elements.”

DPA Enlightens Audio for Holland’s Petruskerk

Founded in 1313, Petruskerk van Leens is one of Holland’s oldest churches and home to its famous, recently restored organ, which has been treasured by parishioners for generations. Once churchgoers were faced with stay-at-home orders due to COVID-19, the church decided to introduce live streaming services to bring mass, and their beloved organ’s music, into the homes of the parish. To help the church design its AV set-up, it called on Bart Hof, owner of HOF AV. Based on his previous use of the mics in live music applications, Hof recommended DPA Microphones to support the audio needs of the church.

“In my opinion, when it comes to the equipment, the simpler and more straightforward way that you approach music is actually the best way to handle audio in a natural way,” Bart explains. “With DPA mics, it’s just a matter of connecting it, and you get this natural sound with no compromise at all.”
