Sanctuary Renovation
With the extensive water damage from late 2022, the 3,000-seat sanctuary would have to be completely renovated from top to bottom. Paragon was tasked with a complete redesign of the main platform space with the goal of creating a warm and inviting space. This would include aesthetic changes to the entire space, and a redesign of the front in addition to updating AVL systems to current technology. Paragon worked alongside MNB Architecture on the project and together delivered an incredible sanctuary renovation.
Audio, Video and Lighting Systems
The technology upgrades were extensive and incorporated replacing the existing public address (PA) with a new Fulcrum PA system with Powersoft amplification that included mains, under balconies, front fills and subs. One of the biggest challenges was that the design criteria required the loudspeakers to remain behind existing soffits which required diligence in getting the right components to make that work. This made the Fulcrum product a great choice, but one of Paragon’s advantages is that they can get whatever they need. Paragon also replaced the aging PM-1D’s with new DiGiCo Quantum consoles at FOH, monitors, and broadcast. All new stage monitoring and distribution was provided as well as new wireless microphones and IEM’s from Shure. Paragon also utilized its signature choir monitoring system featuring (34) JBL Control One speakers. The new audio and acoustic design by Paragon called for extensive acoustical work in the space which resulted in over 10,000 square feet of FabriTrak product.
Video systems included (2) new 32’x18’ ReveLux StoryGlass Stage LED IMAG screens on custom designed motorized line shaft systems. In addition, ReveLux StoryGlass Wallpaper lyric screens were designed into the front wall of the choir loft and new ReveLux confidence monitors were placed throughout the space. A completely new video production system was designed and installed in the control room and broadcast audio that featured FOR-A routers and switching equipment. ReveLux control room monitors, Panasonic cameras with Fujunon lenses, new Clear Com systems, AJA recording equipment and DiGiCo consoles.
Paragon provided extensive architectural LED lighting throughout all the custom scenic and architectural elements in addition to a new moving light package over the main platform as part of the existing lighting system using Chauvet Maverick fixtures with control by the Road Hog 4-21 Console. Power and data distribution were designed and installed using products from ETC, Fleener and Ace Backstage.
Scenic, Staging & Architectural Elements
Paragon provided its signature, custom fabricated scenic and architectural elements throughout the stage space and audience areas, greatly expediting the time it took to flip the sanctuary. This included custom elements featuring walnut, aluminum and illuminated faux stone on upper and lower backwall treatments, columns, baptistery facades, choir side walls, modesty and kneeler walls, house columns, screen surrounds and a custom Paragon 360 drum enclosure. All elements were custom fabricated in Paragon’s shop in Springfield, MO and brought to the job site for quick and efficient installation.
Lobby Space & Phase Two
Paragon also worked in the adjoining lobby space, which included custom fabrication of illuminated columns, custom signage and newly added, custom curved welcome desk. Paragon is in the process of upgrading audio amplification and processing in the Faith building which housed services through the water repair and restoration and worship center renovation.
“Our decision to hire Paragon 360 was the right decision, and I would do it again. It’s incredible.”
