L-Acoustics has been honored during the prestigious Décibels d’Or awards by the French government’s Conseil National du Bruit (National Council on Noise), which recognizes the company’s unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of sound technology and its dedication to creating exceptional audio experiences while respecting the needs of local communities. This esteemed award, founded in 1991 and granted only once every three years, recognizes the groundbreaking ability of the newly launched L Series line source array to manage sound, keeping it on the audience area while significantly reducing spillage to areas where it is not desired. It is the first time in the Décibels d’Or’s history that an audio manufacturer has been honored.

The development of L Series is the culmination of seven years of dedicated research and innovation. The breakthroughs in directivity control developed for this innovative new technology have resulted in two patents, further solidifying the company’s position as a pioneer in the field of professional audio solutions.

The L Series represents a new era of directivity-controlled loudspeakers, specifically designed for medium-sized festivals and concert halls. L Series comprises two elements that are designed to work together or on their own: L2 above and L2D below. This innovative system delivers unparalleled sound quality, clarity, precision, and homogeneity for the audience, while effectively reducing noise by an unprecedented 15dB outside the coverage zone.

One of the key features of the L2 system is its adaptability to the venue’s geometry, significantly reducing noise pollution throughout its entire frequency range of 45 Hz to 20 kHz. The system achieves precise directivity control through two cutting-edge technologies. L-Acoustics’ Panflex™ technology combines mechanical orientation with electronic optimization, enabling horizontal directivity control while DSP optimization ensures vertical directivity control, tailoring the loudspeaker’s coverage to the specific installation geometry.

In the low-frequency range, the L2 system offers a choice between cardioid and supercardioid directivity, effectively limiting rear rejection by up to 15dB, ensuring the comfort of artists onstage, the production crew, and neighbors outside of the audience zone.

In addition to the exceptional acoustic performance, L Series also boasts a compact and lightweight design. Compared to conventional systems of equal power, the L Series is 46% smaller and 40% lighter, reducing the carbon footprint of touring, streamlining assembly, and enhancing operator safety.
