In alignment with the growing focus on identity and access management in schools, BenQ, an internationally renowned provider of visual display solutions, announced today that BenQ Boards are now equipped with a subscription-free identity management software. The software directly integrates with Microsoft Entra — Microsoft’s product family that encompasses all of its identity and access capabilities — and includes Microsoft Azure Active Directory (AD), Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management, and decentralized identity. BenQ notes that this is the first interactive display for classrooms to provide this benefit free of charge.
Every organization now, including schools, must ensure that they have a strong security protocol. Microsoft Entra uses multilayered, built-in security controls and unique threat intelligence to help identify and protect against rapidly evolving risks. The integration of Microsoft Entra solutions with BenQ’s software provides an even more robust identity management system. They’re better together so schools can stay focused on teaching.
Teachers in schools across the country are working and stretching into the new digital classroom. With this evolution comes increased cyber security concerns and risks. BenQ’s free identity management software utilizes BenQ’s NFC capability and is integrated with Azure AD, which allows teachers to log into any BenQ smart board easily and securely. BenQ utilizes Azure AD single sign-on (SSO) as a secondary keyword. SSO is an authentication method that allows users to sign in using one set of credentials to multiple independent software systems. SSO grants teachers secure and seamless access to all their presets, teaching tools, cloud drives, and apps — from any location and from any BenQ Board.
“BenQ and Microsoft help schools be ahead of any risks as identity theft continues to rise,” said Bob Wudeck, senior director of business development at BenQ Education. “Resources are limited, so technology staff must be focused on the day-to-day network and technology tasks to keep classrooms running smoothly and students learning effectively. With this powerhouse combo, they don’t have to worry about potential security concerns.”
At ISTELive 23, kicking off today in Philadelphia, BenQ will showcase how any teacher can use a BenQ Board with Microsoft Entra integration for instant personalization of any display on campus, in seconds, and without typing a login.
