As networks continue to converge in the enterprise, in smart/connected buildings and in commercial spaces, with the demand for multicast and multipoint to multipoint AV distribution over ever increasing distances, as well as streaming, and remote control, AV over IP is becoming a widespread technology.

The increase in deployment of 10G networks, coupled with the cost reduction per port, the market push of manufacturers with switches designed for AV over IP and the development of low latency, visually lossless compression has resulted in an increased deployment of the solution.

The adoption of AV over IP by the Broadcast industry is also speeding up the development of IP native equipment and protocols spearheaded by SMPTE.

These types of projects have led to frequent interactions between AV and IT and Facilities professionals and have highlighted the need for cross training in AV and IT technologies. This course is designed to provide the AV, the IT and Facilities professionals with the necessary tools to engage their counterparts and to successfully work with them to deploy AV over IP solutions that meet IT policies and requirements.
