GOLDEN PRECIADO | TRAINING SPECIALIST, QSC

Golden Preciado, QSC Training Specialist and founder of Golden Audio Mix, credits her father, audio engineer Evan Williams, for instilling four guiding principles: “Be teachable and ask questions. Strive for excellence through ongoing learning. Treat others with graciousness and respect. And stay humble.” These values, she says, shape her approach to audio engineering and teaching.

Preciado’s journey began as her father’s assistant, where she learned the intricacies of sound. “He taught me timeless wisdom during an everyday stroll,” she recalls. After a career as a songwriter, musician, and worship leader, she transitioned to technical roles in audio, balancing her passion for music with family life. Networking at a NAMM Show eventually led to a full-time position with QSC in May 2022.

At QSC, Preciado develops training programs for house-of-worship audio and live sound professionals. “As an educator, I merge technology and knowledge,” she shares, highlighting her work creating step-by-step video tutorials and conducting hands-on training. Her work reflects her belief in lifelong learning and mentorship.

Preciado is also a passionate supporter of the Professional Audio Manufacturers Alliance (PAMA). “I’ve loved participating in PAMA panels, where competitors become peers,” she says. She commends PAMA’s efforts to promote diversity and education in a traditionally male-dominated field. “Their commitment to women and the next generation through scholarships ensures the industry evolves with fresh perspectives.”

Her advice to aspiring audio professionals echoes her father’s lessons: “Be inquisitive, approach others with humility, and enjoy the journey. Success comes from hard work and never stopping learning.”
