DANE ROTH | SHURE, SENIOR DIRECTOR, GLOBAL CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS
Dane Roth brings the mind of an investigative storyteller to his role at Shure. “Everyone has an interesting story to tell,” he says. “I uncover and share stories from the audio community, celebrating the industry’s accomplishments.”
Roth values the Professional Audio Manufacturers Alliance (PAMA) for fostering peer connections. “Talking shop with people from across the industry is invaluable,” he says. “PAMA provides opportunities to stay current and engage with others in a meaningful way.”
Roth’s passion for audio storytelling began early. As a child in Ohio, he listened to late-night AM radio, mesmerized by its magic. In high school, he interviewed players and coaches for local radio and print, blending audio with storytelling.
Before joining Shure, Roth worked in public relations for a steel company and PR firms, gaining experience across industries. At Shure, he combines his love for audio and storytelling, highlighting the history, present, and future of the field. “The audio industry has accomplished so much,” he says.
Roth also leads Shure’s community relations, providing audio products and supporting initiatives in STEM and diversity. He recalls a recent event at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry: “At a ‘Be a Podcaster’ booth, hesitant students lit up when they heard their amplified voices. It sparked confidence and curiosity about audio technology.”
Roth plays a key role in the Mark Brunner Professional Audio Scholarship, honoring his mentor. “Reviewing submissions from the next generation of audio professionals is inspiring. PAMA’s expansion of this scholarship, especially for diverse candidates, makes me proud.”
As a member of PAMA’s marketing committee, Roth emphasizes the importance of curiosity and collaboration: “Being open to others’ stories fosters friendships, professional growth, and shared wisdom in the audio industry.”
