Absen Inc., the US subsidiary of Absen, the internationally acclaimed innovator in LED display technology, will unveil its Pixel Reality (PR) Series powered by the revolutionary Deepsky Processing Platform at LDI 2024. The PR Series, designed for virtual production with HDR and advanced features, now integrates seamlessly with the Deepsky Processing Platform to deliver exceptional image quality, dynamic range and color fidelity, and will be showcased at LDI 2024 from December 8–10, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

AbsenLive’s PR Series is a professional-grade LED specifically designed for virtual production. It offers pixel pitches ranging from 1.5 mm to 5.2 mm, making it suitable for a wide range of studio configurations. The PR Series’ narrow pixel pitch options, such as PR1.5, PR1.9 and PR2.5, are ideal for building high-resolution LED backdrops, enabling filmmakers to capture exceptional detail even at close range. The PR Series’ higher pixel pitches, including PR3.9 and PR5.2, deliver high brightness, making them perfect for creating visually stunning LED ceilings that enhance lighting effects on set. Designed for virtual production, the PR Series supports HDR, 99.9% DCI-P3 color gamut, frame multiplication, adjustable scanning frequency and high frame rates up to 251Hz. These features eliminate artifacts like scan lines and color banding, enabling flawless in-camera effects and seamless workflows.

“AbsenLive is proud to showcase the Pixel Reality Series featuring Deepsky at LDI 2024,” said Neil Morrison, vice president of rental and staging for Absen Inc. “With this integration, we are pushing the boundaries of virtual production technology, delivering unparalleled image fidelity, dynamic range and color accuracy. The PR Series, combined with Deepsky’s cutting-edge GPU-driven processing and AI advancements, enhances production capabilities for filmmakers and content creators. AbsenLive remains committed to empowering creative professionals with innovative, high-performance LED solutions that redefine the standards of visual excellence.”

Deepsky is the only processing solution for LED displays that is purely software- and GPU-based. By harnessing GPU technology, driven by advancements in AI, Deepsky processors grow more powerful with each passing year. All pixel processing is handled entirely within the screen controller, eliminating the need for processing at the receiver card level. Deepsky combines advanced IC drivers, GPU-based processing and ultra-precise calibration to deliver unmatched color accuracy, dynamic range and image fidelity to Absen’s PR Series.

“We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Deepsky Processing Pipeline at LDI, seamlessly integrated into Absen’s PR Series,” said Antoine Doublet, general manager for Deepsky. “This groundbreaking technology leverages Deepsky’s revolutionary IC driver with patented Variable Current technology and a cutting-edge GPU image controller. Enhanced by AI processing and ultra-precise color calibration, Deepsky ensures unparalleled color accuracy across a remarkable brightness range of 0.05 nits to 2,500 nits.”

Doublet added, “By incorporating Deepsky into the PR platform, Absen users gain access to industry-leading image quality, designed to meet the discerning standards of the human eye and the most advanced cinema cameras. We are deeply grateful for our partnership with Absen, whose dedication to innovation and excellence has been instrumental. Together, we look forward to redefining the possibilities in LED display technology.”
