Yvonne Ho is a Co-Founder and Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Point Source Audio, a leading manufacturer of professional microphones and headsets. Before launching the company in 2008 with her partner James Lamb, Ho worked at Phonic Ear, where she developed a passion for audio technology and advocacy for hearing accessibility. Her efforts during the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) helped establish industry guidelines for hearing assistance systems, shaping accessibility standards in public spaces.
Ho’s desire to make a meaningful impact inspired her return to the audio industry. “I always had plans to own my own business, and launching Point Source Audio was the perfect way to merge my passion with my goals,” she says. Today, the company’s products are used on premier stages worldwide, including Broadway, earning Point Source Audio a reputation for quality and innovation.
As a new member of the Professional Audio Manufacturers Alliance (PAMA), where she was quickly elevated to the office of Treasurer, Ho sees great potential for collaboration. “We’re excited to develop relationships and contribute to conversations that drive innovation and advancement in the audio industry,” she notes.
Ho emphasizes a customer-centric philosophy, working closely with users to create impactful solutions. “Listening to customers and observing their workflows help us deliver products that truly make a difference,” she explains.
For aspiring professionals, Ho advises embracing new opportunities and staying authentic. “Focus on your craft and keep improving daily. Confidence grows from consistent effort, and opportunities will follow,” she shares.
Reflecting on her journey, Ho finds fulfillment in helping others hear clearly. “Hearing how our products change lives is incredibly rewarding,” she says, recalling a videographer who likened using their in-ear headset to “seeing color for the first time.”
