ROBERT CLYNE | PRESIDENT AND CEO, CLYNE MEDIA INC.
“It’s about who you know” is an adage Robert Clyne has built a career upon. As President and CEO of Nashville-based Clyne Media, Robbie leverages relationships, blending personal and professional connections with integrity and respect. His optimistic attitude, pragmatic logistics, and deep industry insight have made him a trusted figure in public relations, marketing, and media for high-tech entertainment markets like Pro Audio, M.I., and Broadcast.
Robbie has forged decades-long relationships with clients such as Audio-Technica, Genelec, Focusrite, and the Recording Academy P&E Wing. His involvement with the Professional Audio Manufacturers Alliance (PAMA) reflects his commitment to the industry. “PAMA provides a platform to champion excellence in professional audio and unites competing brands for the greater good of the industry,” he says. As a PAMA member, Robbie and his team play a vital role in public relations and marketing, enhancing PAMA’s visibility and advancing its mission.
Robbie’s career began as a copywriter for a New York agency specializing in pro audio, where he developed expertise in media buying, artist relations, and public relations. He eventually founded Clyne Media, offering a full suite of services tailored to client needs. His background in psychology, inspired by his father, a psychoanalyst, shaped his empathetic approach to communication. “Understanding motivations allows you to meet people where they are and exceed expectations,” he explains.
Robbie highlights mentorship and networking as keys to success. A pivotal conversation with Korg USA’s late president, Michael Kovins, inspired him to start his firm. “Everyone should have a mentor like Michael,” he reflects.
Robbie’s advice: cultivate genuine relationships, seek mentorship, and share knowledge. These values, combined with his forward-thinking approach, ensure Clyne Media thrives in an ever-evolving industry.
