CASEY JOHNSON | VP OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT FOR THE AMERICAS, D&B AUDIOTECHNIK

Casey Johnson’s audio career began in a church where his father was media director for a large congregation broadcasting services on live TV in the 1970s. As a child, Johnson learned the ropes by shadowing his father. By 14, he was running sound for events and working paid gigs. These hands-on experiences laid the foundation for his future success.

After earning a degree from Belmont University, Johnson interned at CTS Audio in Franklin, TN, where he spent eight years honing his skills. Starting with tasks like cleaning cables, he advanced to roles like monitor engineer, learning to serve artists’ needs with precision. A career pivot came when he moved to Atlanta, joining a rep firm and gaining valuable business acumen as a sales rep for nearly 20 manufacturers.

In 2012, Johnson joined d&b audiotechnik as Southeastern Regional Sales Manager. Now Vice President of Business Development for the Americas, he leads a team driving demand for d&b products. “Our goal is to get the market to ask for d&b,” he explains, emphasizing strategic market analysis and strong relationships.

Johnson credits key moments for shaping his career, from unmuting a pastor’s mic as a child to embracing early digital consoles. He advises newcomers to focus on building relationships, staying humble, and adapting to life’s changes.

PAMA has also been instrumental in Johnson’s journey. Participating in a recent PAMA retreat, he appreciated the chance to exchange ideas and connect with others in the industry. “It’s heartwarming to be part of an organization that leads with helping others,” he says. For Johnson, PAMA offers not just community but a shared purpose that aligns with his goals at d&b audiotechnik.
