JIM BARRY | CHIEF GROWTH OFFICER AND DIRECTOR, RF VENUE
Jim Barry brings a unique perspective to the pro audio industry with a background as a Marine Corps officer. He served in the Gulf War and held roles in logistics, artillery, and as a White House Social Aide during the Reagan and Bush administrations. This detail-oriented mindset now informs his work at RF Venue, where he is inspired by the company’s focus on making wireless audio work seamlessly across all brands of microphones and in-ear monitors.
Before joining RF Venue, Barry’s career spanned health care technology, private equity, and aviation. He founded an advisory firm focused on using data and technology to solve meaningful problems, from diagnosing disease to improving travel experiences. “It may seem like an unusual path,” Barry says, “but it’s all about the balance of team and product to solve big challenges.”
Barry’s passion for data drives his approach at RF Venue. “Data focuses, explains, predicts, and forecasts. It allows smarter decisions,” he notes. His work includes marketing, positioning products, and relaying real-world feedback to engineering. Barry also values learning, regularly engaging with industry publications and PAMA webinars to stay ahead. “PAMA offers priceless opportunities to learn from leaders in audio,” he says.
Though new to pro audio, Barry is no stranger to RF technology and its challenges. “The shrinking RF spectrum makes wireless audio increasingly complex. RF Venue simplifies this for customers, which hooked me immediately,” he explains. His love for music runs deep, stemming from his years playing trombone and working with the Marine Band and Drum Corps in Washington, DC.
Barry is clear on his mission: “Grow RF Venue to its full potential with a focused, energetic team, and exceed customer expectations. Meaningful work and great audio experiences drive me.” His advice to newcomers? “Work hard and be excellent—whether you’re at the mic, building it, or selling it.”
