MONTREAL — March 20, 2013Matrox — At the 2013 NAB Show (Las Vegas, April 8-11, booth SL4616), Matrox® Video will demonstrate Matrox Monarch® HD, a small, easy-to-use video streaming and recording appliance designed for professional video producers who need to simultaneously stream a live event and record a Blu-ray quality version for post-event editing.

From any HDMI input source such as a camera or switcher, Matrox Monarch HD generates an H.264-encoded stream compliant with RTSP or RTMP protocol. While encoding the video at bitrates suitable for live streaming, Matrox Monarch HD simultaneously records a high-quality MP4 file to an SD card, a USB drive, or a network-mapped drive. Matrox Monarch HD is remotely controlled using any computer or mobile device with a web browser.

“Live event producers have been looking for a way to overcome the limitations of today’s content delivery networks that only allow recording and archiving at the lower quality available while streaming,” said Daniel Maloney, technical marketing manager at Matrox. “Matrox Monarch HD solves this problem by providing two independent delivery channels in a single, robust, reliable box, at an unprecedented price.”
