“When we introduced our free Android and Apple apps years ago, we wanted to provide customers with the same convenience we offered in our browser-based interface, but in a mobile format. As we’ve continued to add new functionality to the GUI and expand our lineup of AVL power control solutions, we’ve had a surge of customers requesting the same app features for their Android devices as we’ve built into our more recent Apple app,” said Mark Bishop, President of LynTec. “This upgrade delivers on our continuous commitment to serve our customers and answer their needs with robust, flexible solutions that allow them to control their AVL assets at the system, zone, and circuit level, with or without third-party controllers.”

WPC Blends With MLA Compact at HPUMC Easter Service

When Highland Park United Methodist Church (HPUMC), based in Dallas, TX, wanted to stage a large-scale Easter Sunday service at a 32,000-capacity stadium, it presented Martin Audio partner Alford Media with some unique challenges.

The stadium sits on a university’s campus and while Alford Media has provided audio reinforcement for a number of routine graduation ceremonies at the stadium, the emphasis this time was on providing premium audio—particularly with 600 socially distanced chairs set out for family groups on the field itself—according to Alford’s Audio Services Manager, Ben MacKinney.

Alford Media holds a vast inventory of Martin Audio systems and MacKinney set about combining two of their finest—Wavefront Precision Compact (WPC) for on field coverage, and MLA Compact for the bleachers and stands. This provided the optimum outcome for a congregation numbering around 7,000 people. The Wavefront Precision series was recently recognized with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation.

Oaks Christian School Mixes It Up With A DiGiCo S21

Established in 2001, Oaks Christian School (OCS) in Westlake Village has quickly flourished over the past two decades to become one of the most sought-after private middle/high schools in the West Los Angeles area. With a number of the school’s events now being held outdoors on its 25-acre Conejo Valley campus per current health and safety protocols, OCS recently purchased a portable sound reinforcement system that is being piloted via an S21 digital mixing console from DiGiCo.

David Alexander is Oaks Christian School’s Technical Director as well as the Facility Manager for the Bedrosian Pavilion, the campus’ 30,000-square-foot multipurpose performing arts center that opened in 2007. “We have a large-format desk as our mainstage console at the pavilion, but it’s far too big to move quickly and deploy easily as an outdoor desk for mid-size events,” he says. “We needed something that would be much more portable, but also wanted something that would sound great without requiring additional outboard gear. The DiGiCo S21 was perfect.”

Biamp Supports Hybrid Learning with Simple, Affordable Audiovisual Solutions for K-12 Classrooms

Biamp™, is supporting cost-effective, easy-to-deploy, and consistently great audio experiences in K-12 hybrid and remote classrooms with Devio™ SCR Series signal processors and Parlé™ Beamtracking™ microphones. The Devio SCR Series ensures every student, either at school or at home, can clearly hear and understand classroom instruction, regardless of the teacher’s location in the room. Devio SCR includes Parlé tabletop or ceiling microphones, leveraging Biamp’s patented Beamtracking technology, which tracks and mixes voices intelligently anywhere in the classroom — even as the teacher moves around the space.

“Classroom audio has traditionally been limited to the personal speakers and microphone systems found in computers and mobile devices, which deliver a very poor audio experience if you are not speaking directly into the mic. Now, with so many schools offering hybrid or remote instruction, it’s essential that kids at home can hear the teacher as clearly as if they were in the classroom,” said Joe Andrulis, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Biamp. “Devio SCR delivers crystal-clear audio with a truly plug-and-play installation experience. IT staff can simply connect microphones and speakers to Devio and push the auto setup button. For less than $2,000, this is an affordable, flexible system that ensures a streamlined deployment and an exceptional audio experience for teachers and students, whether they’re in the room or in a remote location.”
