VUE AUDIOTECHNIK HELPS SPREAD THE WORD AT Crossroads.TV Church

In Web Articlesby tfwm

untitledWhen Crossroads.TV Church moved to a new facility-the former home of a multiplex movie theater-in Lancaster, OH, it was clear the expanding congregation would benefit from a new sound system. Having already worked with the church on the audio install at their Lithopolis, OH, campus, Crossroads.TV entrusted Dave Lowery and Matt Price from Sound Inspiration LLC (Columbus, OH) to design and deploy the new PA featuring VUE Audiotechnik’s al-4 Subcompact Line Array System.

The PA system requirements at Crossroads.TV Church are unlike those of a “traditional” house-of-worship audio install. Crossroads.TV’s progressive Weekend Experiences feature loud, edgy music intended to attract and speak to younger generations. The new VUE system is able to accommodate those needs while maintaining clear sight lines from all areas of the room.

“We were on a rather tight budget,” explains Joe Miller, Executive Pastor of Campus and Creative at Crossroads.TV Church. “Our solution required the best possible audio quality, as well as the best possible coverage, at a price point we could manage. We heard many systems in the price range, however, when we heard the VUE demo at BoMA in Downtown Columbus, OH, we were excited by the clarity and power that this minute rig generated, because sight lines were also a concern for our room. There was no other PA that had the clarity and performance of the VUE system.”

The Cove Church Harbors L-Acoustics Kara(i) and Kiva Arrays

In Web Articlesby tfwm

untitledOver the past 17 years, The Cove Church has increased its membership to 5,000 congregants, in the process expanding to five regional campuses and a constantly growing number of neighborhood locations. But what ties them all together is Pastor Mike Madding’s sermons, which are broadcast and streamed from the church’s Mooresville, NC main location each week.

Realizing that the center cluster of the point source sound system that had been in use there since that building opened in 2008 was creating a visual problem for those broadcasts, the church decided to upgrade its entire sound system with a line array design that would keep the center area above the stage completely clear. After evaluating several contenders, an L-Acoustics Kara(i) system was chosen because only it could give The Cove Church both the sound and the look it needed.

Faith Free Will Baptist Church Upgrades with Martin Audio CDD

In Web Articlesby tfwm

bA small 200-seat house of worship in Eastern North Carolina, the Faith Free Will Baptist Church recently upgraded its sound system with Martin Audio CDD installation speakers.

RMB Audio Tech Matt Johnson served as the planner, installer and designer for the system. A lifelong member of the church, Matt explains his personal family ties and the heritage of others within the Faith Free Will community. “I grew up in the church,” he explains, “which was originally built in 1962 on a tract of farmland donated by my great-grandfather, its first pastor. My father, Edgar Alberdeen Johnson Jr., is Deacon of the church.

“The church was rebuilt in 2006 after a heavy snowstorm overloaded the roof and pushed out the walls. A new sound system was installed during that renovation, but it wasn’t providing the coverage or clarity they needed, especially for some of the older congregants who couldn’t hear the sermons.”

LED Displays and Projectors: Pros and Cons of Both

In Web Articlesby tfwm

Interested in learning about LED Displays and Projectors?  Thursday, Nov. 19, Daktronics’ Marty Gregor and Matt Anderson are presenting a seminar at WFX on the subject.

Attendees of this session should walk away with a better understanding of how brightness, contrast, and overall cost of ownership apply. Many factors contribute to brightness, including innate brightness capability and ambient lighting conditions. An indoor environment can present a variety of unique challenges that require certain brightness capabilities to ensure clear image quality. Another factor that affects image quality is contrast. Contrast is the difference between lightness and darkness in an image, and the greater the difference between these two values, the better quality image on your display.
