Clark, a leading provider of innovative audio, video and lighting solutions with offices in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Dallas, recently installed two Yamaha RIVAGE PM10 Digital Audio Consoles at Saddleback Church in Lake Forrest, CA; one PM10 is used for front of house, the second for monitors.

“The church was looking for reliability, sound quality, increased channel counts and, of course, ease of use,” states Jeff Stewart, Senior Consulting/Client Development at Clark. “The client’s existing consoles were at capacity so we decided to look at the Yamaha PM10 for their requirements. We first learned about the new Yamaha PM10 through media announcements in various trade publications, and felt the RIVAGE would suit their needs. So we arranged several demonstrations for the staff, who were already familiar with Yamaha console technology.”

There are few, if any, moments in history more significant than the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the very essence on which our faith in God and salvation is based. When I was first approached about doing a review of the Sibelius composing software, while composing an original piece for Easter, I was excited.

DPA Microphones Celebrates the Spirit of Christmas on Tour with GRAMMY® Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter Amy Grant

In Audio, home_page, Industry News by Chris Hardin

As one of the music industry’s most highly respected studio and live mixing engineers, Russ Long recently embarked on the Christmas with Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith tour, which also features Jordan Smith, Season 9 winner of The Voice. Long needed a microphone that would capture Grant’s soft vocals without any handling noise. The solution was DPA Microphones’ d:facto™ Vocal Microphone.

Long has been using DPA mics for over a decade, but only recently tried out the d:facto vocal mic. “This past spring was my first time using the d:facto vocal mic,” says Long. “Amy’s voice is amazing and it sounds great through pretty much any mic I’ve heard her sing into. The challenge is, she sings extremely soft, so off-axis rejection is a big consideration, as is handling noise. Since she’s singing soft, the mic preamp has to be cranked up, so a mic that is only slightly susceptible to handling noise with another vocalist becomes a significant concern with Amy. Ryan Lewis, who was my system tech last year, has golden ears and insisted I give the d:facto a try. Once I did, there was no going back. It has virtually no handling noise at all and it sounds simply stunning.”

Central Baptist Church, Americus, GA Gets a Total Audio Makeover with the Help of GC Pro

In Install News by tfwm

GC Pro and Commercial Sound And Video take Central Baptist Church into the era of contemporary worship with a new sound system including digital audio console, in-ear monitoring and upgraded backline

CentralBaptistThe last time the Central Baptist Church of Americus, Georgia, got a new sound system, the church’s music was focused around the traditional elements of choir and organ. Times changed, and so did the church’s style of worship, which has expanded to encompass more contemporary forms of praise and worship music, with electric guitars and drums joining the joyful noise. These changes, however, made the inadequacy of the original sound system readily apparent. “There was more instrumentation and far more low-end signal to the newer music, and that exposed the shortcomings of the old sound system,” says Rodney Powe, the Central Baptist Church’s Worship Leader. “The style of worship and available technology had advanced, and it was just time to move to a new sound system.” That led the church to Guitar Center Professional (GC Pro), the outside sales division of Guitar Center that focuses on the needs of professional users.
