With its mission to nurture a diverse and welcoming community, Cornerstone Church is a non-denominational / Evangelical house of worship with a congregation that hails from every walk of life, every ethnicity, and every economic and educational background. To ensure that its message reaches the entire congregation no matter where one may be seated, the church recently upgraded its sound reinforcement system with loudspeakers drawn from the AERO, UX, and EVENT series catalogs of Valencia, Spain -based DAS Audio.

Jag Sound Productions LLC, a design / build Pro AV integration firm that, in addition to its installation business also operates a live sound services division, was contracted to handle the design and installation of the new sound system at Cornerstone Church. Company owner Juan Gonzalez, who oversees sales, system design, and system integration, ultimately selected DAS Audio AERO-20, UX-218A, and EVENT-26A loudspeakers for the project. He discussed the installation.

ASCENSION OF OUR LORD CATHOLIC CHURCH DRAMATICALLY IMPROVES INTELLIGIBILITY WITH JUST TWO DANLEY SBH10 COLUMN LOUDSPEAKERS

After holding services in makeshift spaces for literally decades, the parishioners of Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church were elated to finally have a 700-capacity church of their own in La Place, Louisiana. The year was 2001, but there were issues almost immediately. “The original sound reinforcement design was terrible, and they had it replaced within two months by a different contractor,” explained Matt Dupuy, installation technician with Assurance AV Solutions. Dupuy, who also was a member of the church member as a child, continued, “The new system was better, but not at all great. They limped along with it for nearly two decades. There were always complaints, but it remained a backburner issue.” Dupuy is a member of the Assurance AV Solutions team that recently replaced the problematic system with Danley Sound Labs SBH10 column-form, point-source loudspeakers, finally giving the church the sound reinforcement system it had always dreamed of.

“The church was frustrated,” said Chuck Breaux. “They had been dealing with complaints from the start, but now the system itself was getting old. Ascension of Our Lord’s sanctuary is pretty standard for a Catholic Church – lots of hard surfaces and a high ceiling and, thus, lots of reverberation. The church’s sound tech is knowledgeable and, between him and Dupuy, they had done the very best they could with the old system. We designed a Danley point-source system using Danley Direct modeling software and presented it to the church with a quote.”

Danley Loudspeakers and Subs Contribute to a Phenomenal Renovation at South Coast Christian Church

South Coast Christian Church in San Juan Capistrano, California, delivers an upbeat, contemporary service to an energetic congregation. However, its aging sound reinforcement system was holding the ambitious worship team back and preventing the full translation of the praise band’s talents and hard work. In coordination with a larger renovation, local AV integration firm Tech Arts designed and installed a new sound reinforcement system for South Coast Christian Church centered on Danley Sound Labs loudspeakers and subwoofers, along with new video and lighting systems.

“Our original sound reinforcement system was decades old and worn out,” said Jeff Wallace, technical director at South Coast Christian Church. “We were running at 25% of capacity!” In conjunction with a larger architectural remodeling, which would remove the soffit that housed the loudspeakers anyway, the church leaders reached out to Tech Arts to completely revamp their AVL system. Working in phases, the Tech Arts team had the new Danley sound reinforcement system installed in time for Christmas celebrations and many weeks of Sunday services before Covid-19 shut things down.

Love Joy Church Finds a Lot of Love and Joy in Its New Danley Sound System

Love Joy Church has been serving the spiritual needs of its Buffalo, New York congregants since the early 1980s. It has grown considerably from its modest living-room-based, Bible-Study roots and today occupies a beautiful 600-person sanctuary in Lancaster, a suburb of Buffalo. Love Joy’s upbeat services and talented praise band are the heart and soul of its diverse ministerial activities. However, until recently, Love Joy’s congregants regularly complained that speech and lyrics were difficult or impossible to understand. Local AV design and integration firm TSH Audio fixed the problem with new Danley Sound Labs loudspeakers and subwoofers that leverage Tom Danley’s patented designs to deliver speech and music that is clear and impactful.

“The existing sound system at Love Joy Church was dated and the design didn’t work for the space from the start,” explained Timothy Harris, the principle and design engineer for TSH AV. “The coverage was minimal, and there were a lot of boxes at the front of the stage to compensate. But as often happens, more was less. Many people couldn’t hear the message, but if they turned the system louder, other people complained that it was painful.”

RADIUS (RSX Series) Loudspeakers and Subwoofers Deliver Intuitive and Straightforward Performance With Dante Integration

When construction began on the Xi’an Olympic Sports Center, home of China’s 14th National Games, officials wanted the modern 18,000 seat venue to feature a state-of-the-art PA system that would give every seat a memorable experience. With help from pro audio distributor EzPro International, officials found the solution they were looking for in EAW’s RADIUS (RSX) Series loudspeakers and subwoofers.

“In designing the sound system, the goal was to provide the same frequency response for each listening area and to address any unevenness throughout the audience areas,” says System Designer Zhang Xianjun. “We first built a 3D model for the stadium in AutoCAD, according to the architectural drawings. We then imported the model into EASE4.3 acoustic analysis software, followed by a 1:1 EASE model setup. We choose EAW’s RSX line array for its strong directivity, ability to optimize speech intelligibility and its overall fantastic sound.”
