Mark BrunnerThe Wireless Spectrum Auction and its Important to HoW
presented by Mark Brunner, Senior Director of Global Brand Management, Shure
The UHF television spectrum — for decades home to wireless microphone operations — has been under transformation in the past several years.  As over-the-air viewership has declined, regulators around the world have re-purposed UHF spectrum for other uses such as mobile broadband services.  This transition has impacted the professional audio community that is also increasingly deploying wireless technology.  The FCC is planning another auction of UHF spectrum in 2016.  Mark Brunner, Shure’s government  liaison, will discuss the recent history of US spectrum policy and outline the details of the upcoming auction with particular emphasis on wireless microphone operations during and after the transition.
